Jakarta – The acid attack against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus continues to draw public attention, as scrutiny increases over its handling through the military justice system. Previously, the government had committed to thoroughly investigating the case, including identifying all parties responsible.

Commissioner for Monitoring and Investigation at the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM), Saurlin P. Siagian, revealed that the investigation into the violence against Andrie Yunus, currently handled by military authorities, has reached approximately 80 percent completion.

“The investigation process conducted by the TNI Military Police (Puspom TNI) has reached 80 percent. Investigators have named four individuals as suspects under Articles 469 and 467 of the Criminal Code, relating to aggravated assault and premeditated assault, respectively,” said Saurlin.

He added that investigators are currently awaiting the results of the victim’s medical examination as well as testimony from the victim, both of which are crucial in strengthening the case before it proceeds to the next stage.

“At present, investigators are waiting for the victim’s medical report from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) and the victim’s statement,” he explained.

As part of further examination, Komnas HAM plans to question the suspects and involve experts from various fields to reinforce the analysis and conclusions in uncovering the case.

Meanwhile, Head of the TNI Information Center, Major General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, assured that his institution is working optimally and transparently in investigating the acid attack against Andrie Yunus.

“The TNI is committed to conducting law enforcement processes in an open, professional, and accountable manner. The four perpetrators have been named suspects and have been detained in a maximum-security military detention facility at Pomdam Jaya Guntur since March 18, 2026,” Aulia stated.

To ensure the victim’s safety, the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has provided physical protection, including close security, medical assistance, and the fulfillment of procedural rights throughout the legal process, extending also to witnesses and the victim’s family.

The handling of the acid attack case against activist Andrie Yunus is ongoing and continues to be monitored by various parties. The involvement of Komnas HAM and LPSK forms part of oversight efforts to ensure transparency and that the case is handled in accordance with applicable regulations.
