CKG Program Reaches Students, Supports Learning Quality

Jakarta – The government continues to strengthen human resource development through the Free Health Check Program (Cek Kesehatan Gratis/CKG), which has reached students across various regions as part of efforts to instill healthy living habits from an early age and support learning quality.

The Indonesian Ministry of Health emphasizes the importance of health awareness and follow-up after examinations. Meanwhile, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, highlighted that the program is preventive in nature, free from stigma, and aims to provide early understanding of students’ health conditions.

“This program is designed to foster awareness and a culture of healthy living, as well as to establish healthy lifestyle patterns from school age,” said Abdul Mu’ti.

This approach is considered highly relevant in supporting the learning process. Healthy students tend to have better concentration, higher attendance rates, and improved capacity to absorb learning materials. Therefore, health is a key factor in creating sustainable education quality.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Health Development Policy Agency (BKPK) at the Ministry of Health, Asnawi Abdullah, revealed that evaluation results from one year of CKG implementation show several health issues among school-age children that require serious attention.

“This year, CKG will not stop at examinations. Follow-up actions are the main focus. By controlling hypertension, blood sugar levels, and body weight from an early age, the risk of catastrophic diseases in the future can be reduced,” said Asnawi.

Data indicate that health issues such as dental problems and hypertension are beginning to emerge among school-age children. These findings serve as an important basis for the government to strengthen early interventions, preventing potential health problems from developing into more serious conditions in the future.

Nationally, the CKG Program has reached more than 25 million students and has been implemented in over 202,000 schools across Indonesia. This achievement reflects the government’s strong commitment to ensuring that every student has equal access to basic healthcare services.

Going forward, synergy between the education and health sectors will continue to be strengthened to ensure that every Indonesian child not only receives quality education but also grows in optimal health conditions. Thus, the CKG Program contributes not only to health outcomes but also serves as a vital investment in improving learning quality and the future of the nation’s younger generation.
