Jakarta – CIDISS. The rise of terrorism can not be separated from easy access to radical ideologies. Radicalism itself can be considered as the embryo of terrorism. Therefore, the fight against terrorism (counter-terrorism), not just after a terrorist formed, but since before the terrorists embryos were formed must be eliminated. In other words all the things that can lead a person’s ideology or ideologies towards radicals are to be prevented and neutralized, such as through de-radicalization.
In Indonesian government’s “deradicalisation” programme – is growing so fast. More young people are being referred for support and back up for their mental. Its aim is to prevent people becoming drawn into terrorism by providing support programmes to those deemed at risk. Parents, teachers and social workers also intervene if they believe an individual is “at risk of radicalisation”.
Identifying people at risk is not easy and sometimes blurred by the environment and the organization. In Indonesia young people can get accessibility to prevent the radicalization trought thw social activities such as the Muslim Organizations as well as seminars and socialization conducted by government and community organizations
One of the programs is Intervention. Interventions can be taken from the little scope that is family and the relatives for the people that suspected in the terrorism activity. Interventions are not always successful but it is better to intervene the people that have been in prison to play a positive role in helping to reintegrate people back into society.
It is not unreasonable for the government to try and prevent people becoming involved in terrorism. What we need is to motivate our young people and create positive activities in the educational level. By giving the young generation good educations as well as a good spiritual education the radicalization can be dismiss.
