President Prabowo Continues IKN Development with Support from Various Parties
Samarinda – The development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) will continue under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. The sustainability of the IKN development has received support from various parties, who believe that the IKN has a positive impact on the national economy and opens up job opportunities for local communities.
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), emphasized that the main focus of the development of the IKN will be directed at completing the center of government.
“The construction of this government center includes executive, legislative and judicial facilities,” said AHY.
AHY also stated that his party will work together with the IKN Authority (OIKN) to tidy up and perfect this development planning. Even so, he acknowledged that there are major challenges related to budget limitations, which encourages the government to attract local and foreign investors to fund IKN infrastructure projects.
One of the important supports comes from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin). AHY hopes that Kadin can play an active role as a strategic partner of the government, bridging the private sector, including large entrepreneurs and MSMEs, to contribute to the development of the IKN.
The Indonesian government also reaffirmed its determination to create a safe and profitable investment climate. President Prabowo Subianto focused on investment stability to ensure the smooth development of the IKN.
“Investment in the IKN remains safe, President Prabowo has given his full support to the development of the core government area,” said the 7th President Joko Widodo, who ensured the continuation of this project despite the change in leadership.
One important step is the completion of basic infrastructure, such as roads, clean water systems, and electricity supply, which will be completed by the end of this year. Meanwhile, infrastructure development outside the core area will begin early next year, giving a positive signal to investors.
The government also provides clear legal guarantees for investors. This was emphasized by the Deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority, Agung Wicaksono
“Investor rights will be guaranteed with clear regulations, including Building Use Rights (HGB) for 80 years which can be extended,” said Agung Wicaksono,
In addition, ease of licensing and various attractive incentives have been prepared to create a conducive investment ecosystem.
Previously, the Head of the Paser Traditional Institution, Hasanuddin, said that the empowerment carried out by OIKN had a positive impact on the local economy.
“Local business income has doubled from before, which shows the potential of the IKN in improving the welfare of local communities,” he said.
The development of the IKN is expected to not only have a positive impact on the national economy, but also open up job opportunities for local communities. Through coordination between the central and regional governments, this project is believed to strengthen the economy and create significant structural changes. []
