Ready to be implemented in Bali, Bali Police Deploys 4,000 Personnel to Secure the AIS Summit
Ahead of the opening of the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum Summit (Summit) in Bali on 10-11 October 2023, the Bali Regional Police deployed 4,000 personnel to provide security for the AIS Summit in Bali.
By deploying a significant number of personnel, the Bali Police demonstrated commitment to maintaining the security and safety of AIS Forum Summit participants.
The Head of the Bali Regional Police (Kapolda), Inspector General of Police Ida Bagus Kade Putra Narendra said that the personnel deployed would help secure the Indonesian National Police Headquarters and also the TNI.
“That (security for the AIS Summit) is controlled by the center. We are here as backup with Pangdam Udayana. “We reserve our respective portions with 4,000 personnel,” said Bali Police Chief, Monday (2/10/2023).
The Bali Regional Police Chief said that the security measures carried out included the protection of state leaders, delegates and other invited guests.
Various equipment to support security for the international meeting has begun to be distributed from various places to Bali, both from the National Police and the TNI.
Apart from that, a large number of personnel can help in controlling crowds and traffic around the event location. This is important to ensure the smooth running of the conference and prevent potential security or logistical issues.
The Bali Regional Police Chief has also coordinated with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia regarding various preparations ahead of the forum. There will be a security scheme for ring 1, ring 2 and ring 3.
“Yesterday (1/10) a meeting was also held to secure the delegation, of course there will be ring 1, ring 2, ring 3 exactly according to the G20,” he explained.
Apart from finalizing the preparation of security personnel, the Bali Police are carrying out initial checks on the preparation of the places that will be used as venues for the AIS Summit. This step shows their commitment to ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely during the conference.
“Yesterday’s venues were all ready. “The control will be with the international, TNI, Polri,” he concluded.
