Jakarta – President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the development of a sustainable National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago is a strategic step to create a modern, inclusive city of the future and drive national economic growth. President Prabowo also revealed that the IKN project provides a great opportunity for foreign investors to be involved in the development of infrastructure, technology, and the green economy in Indonesia.
“IKN will be a model of a sustainable city that prioritizes environmentally friendly principles. We invite foreign investors to contribute to creating an ecosystem that supports green economic growth and sustainable development,” said President Prabowo.
President Prabowo said that the investment sector is one of the main keys in realizing the government’s grand vision to transform IKN into a center for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
“We want to ensure that Indonesia, especially IKN, becomes an attractive and safe destination for investors, both domestic and international. We understand that investment is the driving force of development, and therefore, we are fully committed to creating a stable, transparent, and investment-friendly climate,” said President Prabowo.
Meanwhile, the IKN Authority received a visit from a leading retail company from Russia, Magnit, through the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Indonesia to discuss cooperation opportunities between the two parties. At this meeting, the IKN Authority conveyed the progress of development, as well as explained private sector cooperation, such as Magnum investors who also come from Russia.
Deputy for Funding and Investment of the OIKN, Agung Wicaksono said that Russian companies are interested in investing in the development of the IKN.
“They (Russia) expressed their desire to know more about the progress of the development of the IKN, and there will also be interest from Russian companies in the IKN, it was also said that in 2025 they plan to go to the IKN,” said Agung.
He added that with the many investors entering the IKN, it is hoped that the sustainability of the development can run faster and more efficiently, and become a symbol of Indonesia’s progress that synergizes with the global world, as well as becoming a driving force for a new economy that brings benefits to all Indonesian people.
“We also convey that the incentives to invest in the IKN are very attractive, and the IKN Authority is indeed opening up cooperation as widely as possible with private parties both from within and outside the country (including in this case with Russia) such as the Magnum investor who has conducted a groundbreaking in September 2024,” he added.
It should be noted that in realizing this sustainable city, Indonesia is wide open to cooperation with foreign investors in various sectors, including renewable energy, smart transportation, information technology, and green infrastructure development. The Indonesian government has prepared various incentives and facilities, including in terms of licensing and legal certainty, to attract foreign investors who want to participate in the IKN project.
