The Ciptaker Law Provides Legal Certainty and Creates Wide Job Opportunities
JAKARTA – The Indonesian industry is currently experiencing problems in being able to support 6% annual economic growth. To be able to increase the role of industry, the government must improve infrastructure, human resources and institutions.
This was stated by an Economic Observer from the University of Indonesia (UI), Fithra Faisal at a webinar event organized by Communi&Co themed “Who is Ciptaker Law For?”, on Friday (14/4).
The webinar event also presented speakers from the Special Staff of the Minister of State Secretariat (Stafsus Mensetneg), Faldo Maldini, Secretary General of the Central Governing Body for the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI), Anggawira, and Founder of the Indonesian Smart Communication Movement (GCKI), Ellys L. Pambayun.
Fithra added, the existence of the Ciptaker Law is one of the most important pillars to continue to drive export figures and also support economic growth in Indonesia in terms of institutional improvement.
“The Ciptaker Law is one of the most important pillars to continue to drive export figures and also support economic growth in Indonesia in terms of institutional improvement. The Ciptaker Law was also able to create broad employment opportunities,” he added.
Meanwhile, Special Staff to the Minister of State Secretariat (Stafsus Mensesneg), Faldo Maldini said that so far there have been overlapping regulations and there has been no serious intention to fix them. So the Omnibus Law on the Ciptaker Law was held to fix all of that.
“Many regulations overlap and there is no serious intention to fix them. Therefore, it is hoped that the Omnibus Law on the Ciptaker Law can fix all of that,” said Faldo.
The government is trying to be able to improve communication patterns. Discussions are still ongoing in the community, but in fact there are still misperceptions, because not all of the points of the Ciptaker Law are pro for the oligarchy.
“So far the government continues to strive to be able to improve communication patterns. Apart from that, there are still a lot of discussions in the community but it turns out that there are still misperceptions, because in fact the company cannot carry out layoffs arbitrarily,” said Faldo.
Secretary General of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (BPP HIPMI), Anggawira, that in terms of substance, the Ciptaker Law has been very positive. In terms of entrepreneurs, all facilities have also been sought in the current era of President Jokowi’s leadership.
“This law is very positive. All facilities have also been attempted in the current era of President Jokowi’s leadership. In contrast to the old era, it was very expensive and complicated,” explained Anggawira.
Comprehensively, the Omnibus Law is a very good thing, because we can synchronize one law with another so that another regulation can be created.
“This Omnibus Law is a very good thing, because it can synchronize one law with another. This law is also a solution to labor problems in Indonesia,” he said.
The founder of the Indonesian Intelligent Communication Movement (GCKI), Ellys L Pambayun, said that the Government’s efforts to continue to build public aspirations and participation have indeed been carried out a lot, namely by outreach, discussions and so on. However, the public perceives it poorly, therefore the Government’s communication pattern actually needs to be improved, namely not too linear.
“Actually, the Government’s efforts to continue building public aspirations and participation have been carried out, such as outreach, discussions and so on. However, the public perceives it poorly, therefore the Government must fix it and not be too linear,” concluded Ellys. [*]
