Jakarta – The Indonesian government has affirmed that the national economy remains stable despite ongoing global dynamics and escalating geopolitical conflicts that continue to create uncertainty.
Strong economic fundamentals are considered the primary pillar in maintaining national resilience amid external pressures.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, ensured that domestic conditions remain under control, including energy availability. He stated that the government’s measures are a follow-up to presidential directives aimed at anticipating global turbulence while maintaining a favorable investment climate.
“Indonesia has demonstrated itself as an adaptive, resilient, and robust nation. This situation is not an obstacle, but rather a momentum to accelerate transformation toward a more modern and efficient system,” Airlangga said.
He also emphasized that stable fiscal conditions provide room for the government to implement productive policies. The government is currently preparing a transformation of national work culture along with energy sector policies to strengthen economic resilience.
“Under the President’s direction, particularly in mitigating and anticipating global developments, we are using this momentum to carry out transformation through what is referred to as the eight pillars of national work culture transformation, complemented by energy policies,” he explained.
On the other hand, the national manufacturing sector has shown solid resilience. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that Indonesia’s manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), based on the latest data, stands at 50.1, indicating continued expansion.
“We are both surprised and grateful that amid very challenging global and domestic conditions, Indonesia’s manufacturing PMI remains above 50. This reflects the strong resilience of our manufacturing sector,” he said.
Agus added that domestic demand continues to serve as the main driver of national industry.
“Our industrial fundamentals remain strong. Domestic demand continues to be the main support, enabling us to withstand significant external pressures,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson for the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Haryo Limanseto, reaffirmed that Indonesia’s macroeconomic stability remains intact. Economic growth remains solid, inflation is under control, and domestic consumption continues to be strong.
“We respect the various views expressed by the public. However, we would like to emphasize that the government ensures that Indonesia’s economic fundamentals remain strong and resilient,” he stated.
He added that the government will continue to safeguard stability through adaptive and responsive policies.
