Jakarta – The government has ensured that the national economy remains stable amid escalating global geopolitical tensions by preparing a series of strategic measures, including maintaining the resilience of the State Budget (APBN), enhancing policy efficiency, and promoting digital transformation within the public sector.
Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, emphasized that the APBN still has sufficient fiscal space to cushion the impact of global economic turbulence. He stated that the government continues to safeguard budget sustainability as a preventive measure against global uncertainty.
“We consistently maintain a sustainable budget, and with that, we still have room to provide a cushion against global economic shocks,” said Purbaya.
According to him, by the end of the year, the budget deficit will remain within safe and manageable limits.
“Our budget will remain sustainable through the end of the year, and the deficit is still under control,” he explained.
He also assured that the government has carefully calculated all potential fiscal dynamics that may arise.
“The media and the public need not worry about an uncontrolled deficit or a disorganized budget. Everything is well managed, and we have calculated projections through the end of the year,” he added.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that Indonesia’s economic position remains relatively strong despite global pressures. He noted that the government continues to push for a transition toward a more modern and efficient economic system.
“Amid global dynamics, Indonesia is showing momentum toward more modern and efficient behavior. The economy remains stable, fuel stocks are secure, and fiscal policies are well maintained,” he said.
To support this efficiency, the government has implemented several new policies, including digital transformation and flexible working arrangements for civil servants. One such policy is the implementation of a one-day Work From Home (WFH) scheme per week. In addition, the government is limiting the use of official vehicles and encouraging greater use of public transportation.
Further efficiency measures include reducing official travel budgets by up to 50 percent for domestic travel and 70 percent for out-of-region travel. Nevertheless, the government ensures that essential sectors such as public services, healthcare, security, and sanitation continue to operate normally without disruption.
In addition, priority programs such as energy compensation are maintained to protect people’s purchasing power. These policies are expected to further strengthen Indonesia’s economic resilience amid ongoing global uncertainty.
