Jakarta – CIDISS. Islam is not present in the space, but is present in the social space that is filled with problems of humanity. Differences in perception and interpretation of the doctrine of religious teachings that caused dissent background of practical sociological led to the emergence of streams, organizations, and movements in Islam, the Qur’an and Hadith become the main base in the formation of behavior and the spirit of the struggle of Muslims of various schools, but on a practical level sociological be many faces.
We can see how many variants of Islam which each have mutually different paradigms. As explained by Maftuh (2004: 142) despite all of Islam and based on the Qur’an and Hadith, but in practice gave rise to the movement pattern and the underlying paradigms. So how the face of Islam that are closely linked to the way the organization and the Islamic movements in manifesting religious teachings. Islamic religion can be studied to some understanding that Islam as a religion that rahmatan Rahmat lil Alamin ie for the whole of Nature, Religion Universal and Rational Religion.
The Religious Radicalism according term radicalism is understood or stream that wants a change or renewal of the social and political manner and extreme violence or darastis (Department of Education, 1994: 808). Similarly, Islam as a religion rahmatan lil Alamin as a mercy to all the worlds with a universal characteristic, rational, caring and civilization as the platform development of religious teachings and religious appreciation of creative to create a prosperous life for mankind. With the basis of the Qur’an and Hadith invites mankind to always be in harmony and peace without violence, mutual respect and respect as well as provide an opportunity for other faiths to practice in accordance with the procedures of religion and belief respectively.
