PENAJAM — The government continues to accelerate the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) by making land acquisition a top priority. The land acquisition process is considered a strategic step to pave the way for infrastructure development that is the main foundation of IKN as a modern and environmentally conscious city of the future.

Deputy for Planning and Land Affairs of OIKN, Mia Amalia, explained that to date, more than 80% of the land for the initial development phase has been successfully acquired. This process was carried out with a collaborative approach involving the local community, local government, and other related parties. According to her, community participation is very important to ensure that the land acquisition process runs smoothly and in accordance with the principles of justice.

“We are committed to ensuring that the community receives fair and proper compensation. The dialogue process continues to be carried out so that all parties feel they have benefited from the development of the IKN,” said Mia.

In line with that, the Director of Land Affairs at the Deputy for Planning and Land Affairs of the IKN Authority, Firyadi, emphasized the importance of synergy between institutions to accelerate the completion of administration related to land acquisition. A transparent mechanism is the main key in creating trust between the government and the community.

“We ensure that all land acquisition processes are in accordance with applicable regulations. Speed is a priority, but it must still be accompanied by accuracy and transparency,” said Firyadi.

Support also came from Urban Planning Observer from Trisakti University, Nirwono Yoga, who sees land acquisition as the initial foundation for the success of IKN development. Nirwono assessed that the government has shown a strong commitment in resolving this challenge.

“Land acquisition is not only about administration, but also about building trust with the community. With a humanistic approach, the government is able to create positive synergy to support this big project,” Nirwono explained.

The IKN development project is designed not only to create a new center of government, but also to be a catalyst for equitable development in Indonesia. Fast and effective land acquisition is the first step to realizing this grand vision.

With the progress that has been made, the government is optimistic that the development of the main infrastructure of the IKN can proceed according to schedule, making the Archipelago a symbol of national transformation and sustainable development. The success in the land acquisition stage shows the seriousness of the government in responding to the major challenges of IKN development for a better future for Indonesia.
