CIDISS – Head of Public Health Service Sukamara, Ahmad Lamsidi said there are a number of villages in Sukamara district that do not yet have health workers in the field of labor, since the village does not have Village Health Post (Poskesdes).

According to Lamsidi, villages that do not have midwives are Pampaning Village, Balai Riam District, Sukamara Regency. Although the area does not have midwives yet, the community can still get maternity services from officers in the surrounding villages that already have midwives.

To provide convenience, the government provides free transportation to patients and families. “Where 3 days before give birth the patient need to contact the midwife in order to be picked up and give birth in the health center, and then they will be placed in the waiting house,” he said as quoted from Borneonews.

Not only free transportation, the cost of feeding patients and families will also be borne by the government so that during the birth process does not become a burden for patients and families. And patient will feel really given good service and comfortable.

Recently, Dinkes of sukamara placed new midwives in the remote area. “The five midwives each served in rural areas to fill Poskesdes such as Lupu Peruca Village, Nibung Island Village, Kenawan Village, Teruntum Village and Semantun Village. And, for the doctor will be placed in the Community Health Center of Pantai Lunci,” he said.

He said, although the midwife is assigned in remote areas that may still have many shortcomings and difficulties, will not hamper the performance of the official, but the Health Department hopes that it can provide the best service to all levels of society in need. “So the number of mother and child’s dead in our region can be suppressed or decreased,” please Lamsidi.
