Jakarta, the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) denied making efforts to cancel Anies’ declaration in various regions. This denial was conveyed by BIN Deputy-VII for Communication and Information, Prabawa Ajie, Thursday (22/12/2022).
“It is not true that BIN is carrying out activities to cancel Anies’ declaration in various regions. This accusation is slander that is deliberately spread by certain parties who are not responsible for discrediting BIN and the National Police, as well as the Government, said Deputy-VII BIN.
Lately, leaflets or flyers have been circulating on social media showing the face of the Head of BIN, General (Purn) Prof.Dr. Budi Gunawan, S.H., M.Sc. and National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The flyer reads ‘BIN and Polri Move to Cancel Anis Declaration Events in Various Regions’.
“BIN has no interest whatsoever in the declaration of the presidential candidate (Capres), it is the right of Indonesian citizens who fulfill the requirements to run for president in the 2024 election,” added Prabawa Ajie.
According to Deputy-VII BIN, BIN has the duty of being the front line in maintaining national security so that it remains conducive.
“Regarding the implementation of the 2024 elections, BIN is trying to oversee so that the democratic party can run in an orderly, safe and smooth manner,” said Ajie. (*)
