Door to Door Vaccination Accelerates Handling of Covid-19

Door to door vaccination is one way to make the national vaccination program a success. Appreciation must be given to BIN for initiating door-to-door vaccination which is expected to accelerate the handling of Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (PEN).
When the Corona vaccine has been found, we cheer for joy because there is hope to get out of the pandemic faster. The national vaccination program has started in Indonesia since March 2021, and is targeted to be completed in 12 months. To achieve the target given by President Jokowi, door-to-door vaccinations are held, while meeting the target of 2 million injections per day, throughout Indonesia.
Vaccinations have to compete with time, because logically the more people who are vaccinated, the more people who have high immunity, thus minimizing the transmission of the corona virus. BIN makes door-to-door vaccination as a solution to expand vaccination coverage. So that all levels of society can get their right to be vaccinated and free from corona.
Spokesperson for Vaccination of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, stated that the door-to-door vaccination step was carried out under certain conditions, and targeted the elderly, vulnerable groups, and people with disabilities. In a sense, they do have some difficulty when they have to come directly to the Puskesmas or other vaccination sites, so that door to door vaccinations are very easy.
If there is a door to door vaccination, they just sit back and wait for their turn to be injected by the health workers. When it is injected, the body’s immunity will increase and it is not easy to get corona. Moreover, the elderly, who generally have comorbidities, can still be vaccinated as long as they get permission from the doctor on duty, and they can survive the dangerous Covid-19 virus.
Vaccinations are also given to people with disabilities because they find it difficult to come to the vaccination location, even if they can come, they can be canceled due to limited funds. So if there is a door to door vaccination, people with disabilities can get protection from corona. Of course, stick to the 10M health protocol.
In addition to people with disabilities, door to door vaccinations are also given to ODGJ. This is done in Blitar. Even though their status is ODGJ, they are also Indonesian people, so they must be vaccinated. Moreover, if they are really dazed and lose their sanity, it is usually rather difficult to put them in order when they are obliged to wear a mask, then the corona vaccine must be injected into their arm.
Door-to-door vaccinations are indeed encouraged to be carried out in various provinces in Indonesia, and President Jokowi appreciates the steps taken by BIN to do so. According to him, this model of vaccination can accelerate the formation of group immunity. So that we can be free from corona as soon as possible.
If more people are vaccinated door to door, the handling of corona will be easier. First, the transmission of the covid-19 virus will be greatly suppressed, and the evidence is that during September to October 2021 the number of patients does continue to decline. The latest data from the Covid Handling Task Force Team, on October 10, there were only 700 corona patients. Compare this with 3 months ago which jumped to 50,000 patients a day.
Second, when the number of patients decreases, the BOR (level of occupancy in hospital beds) automatically decreases. This is beneficial for the health workers because they can rest normally, because when there are too many patients they have to work super long shifts (up to 12 hours) and are tired because there are many things to take care of, and they are too hot because they have to wear hot PPE.
Door to door vaccination is being promoted so that its coverage is wider, so that all cities/districts in Indonesia hold it. If there is a vaccination of this model, it can accelerate the handling of the corona, because the number of patients decreases and the transmission of corona also decreases. With the door to door vaccination, group immunity can be quickly formed.
