Post-Regional Elections, Government Encourages Strengthening of Unity in Regions
Samarinda – The National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) of East Kalimantan Province ensures that political stability in the region remains safe after the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
Head of the Domestic Politics Division of the East Kalimantan Kesbangpol, Fatimah Waty, stated that the implementation of the Pilkada was conducive, with increased voter participation in several regions.
“The level of voter participation in several areas such as Mahakam Ulu and West Kutai reached above 70 percent. This means that there is an increase in political maturity in society,” said Fatimah.
Not only that, Kesbangpol also supports the realization of a safe and smooth transition in the security situation.
“We ensure that the leadership transition runs safely and smoothly,” he added.
Fatimah Waty added that stable political conditions would help maintain the sustainability of development in the region.
“We continue to monitor strategic issues and ensure that all parties, including the community, are actively involved in maintaining political and security stability,” he said.
Meanwhile, several parties emphasized the importance of post-election and regional election consolidation to ensure continued democratic stability.
The General Chairperson of PP Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nashir, emphasized that democracy must be more substantive and involve all state apparatus, including at the regional level.
“A healthy democracy must be supported by all government institutions, from the executive, legislative, judiciary, to regional governments, in one unified system,” he said.
Haedar also reminded elected regional heads to lead with high morality and responsibility, avoiding corruption, politics of favors, and policies that harm the people.
“It is time for us to develop a democracy of values based on the fourth principle of Pancasila, namely democracy led by the wisdom of wisdom,” he stressed.
With community support and synergy between agencies, the government is optimistic about facing challenges in this new year.
Political stability, tolerance, and cooperation are the foundation for building a more prosperous and comprehensive Indonesia.
