Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s recent foreign working visits have sparked a sense of pride among the Indonesian people. During his tour, Prabowo visited China and the United States to meet with the presidents of each country. This step is seen as an effort to strengthen Indonesia’s role in the international world and build strategic relationships with major countries.

Political analyst Ujang Komaruddin assesses that President Prabowo’s move brings a positive impact on Indonesia’s image in the eyes of the world. According to him, Prabowo’s working visit demonstrates his experience and international network. “What Mr. Prabowo has done as the 8th President of Indonesia has impressed all Indonesian people. This shows he has experience, good relations with many countries and many world leaders,” said Ujang in Jakarta, Thursday (14/11).

In China, Prabowo received a warm welcome from the Indonesian community residing there. Citizens were willing to wait for hours for their president’s arrival. A similar thing happened when Prabowo arrived in the United States, showing the enthusiasm and pride of Indonesian people towards their leader who is able to maintain good relations with major countries. Ujang also added that Prabowo, besides being intelligent, is known to be humble and knowledgeable, which makes people even more proud.

On the other hand, international relations observer from the University of Indonesia, Yon Machmudi, emphasizes the importance of this visit in asserting Indonesia’s strategic position among global powers. According to Yon, Prabowo’s first visit to China was motivated by geographical factors, not just political closeness. “One of them is directly visiting influential countries, in this case China and America,” said Yon.

Yon also noted that the United States is in a leadership transition period from President Joe Biden to President-elect Donald Trump, so this visit is also expected to build strategic synergies that remain in line with Indonesia’s free and active foreign policy. “There could be changes in American foreign policy from Joe Biden to Donald Trump, so the choice of making China the first visit also aims to strengthen Indonesia’s position,” he explained.

During his visit, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, also expressed full support for the free lunch initiative program for students initiated by President Prabowo in Indonesia. This program is a strategic step to improve the nutrition of Indonesian children who still face challenges in accessing nutritious food. The United States’ support for this program reflects the close cooperation between the two countries, as well as recognition of Indonesia’s initiative in advancing the welfare of the younger generation.

President Prabowo’s foreign working visits are expected to have a positive impact on Indonesian diplomacy. Through these visits, Indonesia seeks to strengthen its position as a strong and trustworthy partner on the international stage, while bringing new spirit to the Indonesian people who witness their leader being respected in the international world.
