President Indonesia will make any policy about free shipping of book for reader activist

CIDISS – President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated the Government will issue free shipping policy of book for reader books community activists in particular day.

“I request to provide one day for free shipping of book. It has approved, every month,” said President Jokowi after meet with literacy activists in Istana Negara, Jakarta, such in Antaranews.com

That policy, according to President, is suggestion from reading activists because they feel expensive book shipping to remote areas.

President Jokowi describes the obstacle that faced by the read activist, i.e expensive cost book shipping and difficult transportation in many areas, especially in remote areas. Therefore, the President has appealed to PT Pos Indonesia in order provide free shipping of the book to many area at one particular day.

“Next month, I’ve promised, started to send, including the shipping in next month has already started free,” said Jokowi.

The President appreciated the efforts of the reader activist that has served with struggled to penetrate the areas over ride/drive of vehicles, such as motorcycles, bemo (tricycle vehicle), pedati, using public transportation, even on horseback.

To support the efforts of reader activists, President Jokowi has target at least there are 10,000 books exist in a number of areas which have a library tour.

As many as 39 reader activists came to Istana Negara discussing together with the President Jokowi about the efforts of improving the interest literacy of the community, particularly in the area.
