CIDISS. Head of Legal Department of Respublica Political Institute (RPI) Fathuddin Kalimas argues, the issuance of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 2017 on Ormas (Perppu Ormas) is very relevant.
The reason, he said, is that Perppu is needed to respond to the strengthening of identity politics today.
According to Fathuddin, the strengthening of identity politics occurs because of unlimited freedom. It is judged to damage the climate of democracy.
Fathuddin said that unlimited freedom would certainly kill democracy itself, leading to a strengthening of identity politics. This is the threat of democracy. Then the state needs to be present so that the Perpmas of this Organization I value is relevant and urgent.
Fathuddin explained, the strengthening of identity politics is also a factor of increasing extremism and radicalism in the community. Understanding extremism, no problem if it appears in the level of discourse. But in fact, the notion of extremism and radicalism has emerged and filled the public spaces.
According to Fathuddin, if such a situation is not addressed by the government, it is feared to undermine the concept of a unitary state that has been agreed upon by the founders of the nation.
Fathuddin said related to extremism, if the level of discourse is not a problem but if it has entered the public space would have to be prevented. Our country is worshiping. The state is built on an agreement. Do not let any movement attempt to undermine our house.
With the mass organizations that have been issued by the Government, all hope there is no more Anti-Pancasila Anti-Corruption Organization in our country, and trying to replace Pancasila. Hopefully this policy is a policy that keeps Indonesia united in diversity.
