CIDISS- Farm in the Lamandau Regency turned out very potential to develop a wide range of plants, one of which was the fruit of kelengkeng (fruit similar to rambutan or lychee, but smaller with smooth brown skin). It has proven by the success of the breakthrough development of fruits kelengkeng which was centered on the porch of the seed Department of agriculture animal husbandry and Fisheries (Distanakan) precisely when the Prime harvest, on Wednesday (23/3/2016).
It seemed also present Regent Lamandau, Marukan, Chairman of the DPRD Lamandau Tommy Hermal Ibrahim, as well as a number of representatives of the Work Unit. On this opportunity, in the beginning Marukan initially admitted that he did not quite optimistic of fruit kelengkeng capable of cultivated in the land of Lamandau regency.
Moreover, generally people already know that in some areas in Java has become a Center for the cultivation of this type fruit. However, he said, the fact this kelengkeng fruit can grow in the Lamandau well, evidenced by the results that are quite abundant on this prime harvest.
Meanwhile, head of the Distanakan Lamandau, Sunarto, said kelengkeng Prime fruit harvest at the same time as the introducing to society at large that will be followed by the development of aquaculture involving the wider community.
In the Prime harvest there are four types of kelengkeng harvested fruit. Namely, the kelengkeng Diamond Paver, Itoh, Dua Jari (two fingers) and type ping pong Kelengkeng.
The seedlings four types of the kelengkeng obtained from the Pontianak and Bogor.
