Sultra Farmers’ Purchasing Power Weakened Again

 The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Southeast Sulawesi (Sulawesi) launched the Farmers Exchange Rate index (NTP) in Southeast Sulawesi in August 2015 stood at 99.55. The number of return decreased by 0.79 percent compared to the previous month were recorded at 100.35.

BPS head Sultra Adi Nugroho said, NTP Sultra decreased due to the four sub-sectors which build the NTP also decreased which indirectly means that farmers from the sector is still not able to meet their own needs.

 Nationwide 12 provinces in Indonesia has increased and 21 other NTP index recorded a decline. The highest increase was recorded in East Java at 1.22 percent, while the largest decrease was recorded in Riau at 2.00 percent.
