Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Sultra, Adi Nugroho said that the increase in the NTP is an indicator of increased purchasing power of farmers on the consumption of goods and services in rural areas.
“Even nationally, NTP in Southeast Sulawesi in July, it recorded the highest increase among other areas, while Riau is an area that is experiencing a decline in the number of NTP to minus 1.56 percent,” said Adi Nugroho at the end of the press release BPS Office Sultra Wednesday.
As we know that Farmers Exchange Rate Index obtained from the comparison index received by farmers against the index of prices paid by farmers. NTP index is an indicator also shows the power exchange or the terms of trade of agricultural products with the goods and services consumed as well as to the cost of production. The higher the index NTP, it is relatively the stronger purchasing power of farmers.
