The Labour UU Ciptaker has become an excellent legacy or legacy of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) to face the various challenges of the current global economic uncertainty. During the presidency of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), a legacy of excellent and beneficial policies has been born for all the elements and layers of the country’s society, namely the Labour UU Ciptaker.
There is a set of rules that are very useful in helping this nation to cope with the various challenges of continuing global economic uncertainty, so Indonesia is one of the countries that is less affected by such shocks and continues to record increased competitiveness.
Dendy Apriandi, Director of Deregulation of Capital Growth at the Ministry of Investment, said that so far many regulations have turned out to be overlapping. Then from that, President Jokowi decided to make a Labour UU Cipta Kerja using the omnibus law method.
With the existence of the omnibus law method in the Work Creation Act, there is a simplification in the context of bureaucracy so that it clearly overcomes the overlap between one policy and the other before the policy is formed.
Besides, the government is also really trying to ensure that the existence of the Labour UU Cipta Kerja becomes a good legacy because it is able to respond and provide concrete solutions for Indonesia to survive the various disturbances and challenges that have been going on.
Meanwhile, Employment Specialist, Prof. Tadjuddin Noer Effendi assessed that earlier Indonesia experienced delays in efforts to amend various policies. However, the situation immediately changed since the creation of the Labour UU Cipta Kerja due to the level of amendment of bureaucracy, structural and also amendments in business and investment processes.
Senada, Minister of Employment of the Republic of Indonesia (Menaker RI), Ida Fauziyah also assessed that a set of rules is a breakthrough to realize the transformation of the situation. As it were, the Labour UU Cipta Kerja was intended to make a good change for Indonesia.
Since the main objective is to change, then there must have been rejection from the people who may not understand the usefulness of the policy. Nevertheless, the government does not play safe by avoiding the risk of rejetion from the public, but rather for the good of the nation and the country, the President still chooses to take that risk.
During his second term in office, President Jokowi could have actually chosen to remain calm in running his government and not to continue making breakthroughs that could change many things significantly. However, he was more concerned and concerned about the interests of the people, trying to choose to leave a legacy for the nation with the creation of the Labour UU Cipta Kerja.
Moreover, the Labour UU Cipta Kerja is truly able to accommodate the interests of the entire public from all backgrounds, whether they are entrepreneurs, investors or workers.
Thro its formulation process, the government has also always pursued dialogue with the various layers in order to reach a meeting point of birth of policies that accommodate the interests of all.
There is a dialogue in a meaningful participation of workers or workers who are able to communicate their aspirations directly and get a great opportunity to contribute.
Giving the public an opportunity is aimed at balancing the alleged disparities that some people have been accusing of.
In the Labour UU Cipta Kerja, it is generally aimed at carrying out a structural reform and at the same time accelerating Indonesian economic transformation. There are various clusters in it, such as licensing simplification, investment requirements, employment, land acquisition and ease of work.
Not enough to get there, in a set of policies with the method of omnibus law, there are also matters of support for research and innovation, government administration, imposition of sanctions, facilitation of empowerment and protection for all micro and medium enterprises (MSMEs), then investment and government projects and economic area. The Indonesian nation is in great need of the Labour Creation Act because every year there are about 2.9 million newly-employed people, who are young people entering the labour market.
The younger generation of the nation’s successors are clearly in urgent need of new jobs. Furthermore, the data showed that 87 percent of the total working population had an education level of only high school to lower, with 39 percent of them having a primary school education. (SD). So it takes an effort to keep pushing the creation of new jobs.
Thus, there is no doubt that the Labour Creation Act has become a very good legacy of government to face the many challenges of today’s uncertain global economy.
