FISIP lecturer who is also a political observer at Bung Karno University, Faisyal Chaniago said that one of the main focuses of President Jokowi’s government is to increase accessibility and connectivity throughout Indonesia, which can be seen from the rapid construction of toll roads, roads in villages, construction of ports and other infrastructure.

“For the past 10 years, President Jokowi’s government has focused on infrastructure development. Indonesia is an island country consisting of 17,000 islands, of course it needs very fast connections. President Jokowi has built toll roads, roads in rural and urban areas in every province very well. In terms of islands, President Jokowi has built around 50 ports for connections between all islands, the goal is for economic growth to be evenly distributed, especially in the regions,” said Faisyal.

Faisyal added that in recent years, a series of infrastructure projects have been launched, creating a positive impact on various aspects of people’s lives and the national economy.

“Economic support does not only occur in big cities like Jakarta. Economic growth can also occur in other areas. Another positive effect is lowering production costs, if production costs decrease, the cost of goods will automatically decrease. Indirectly, the cost or cost of living of the community will decrease. This is the effect of infrastructure development carried out by President Jokowi,” said Faisyal.

Various developments have been successfully completed and have had a positive impact on national economic growth. President Jokowi’s real work has made the public consider his government to have succeeded in building Indonesia into a developed country with various facilities that support economic activities.

“We must admit, President Jokowi can indeed maintain economic stability above 5 percent. In the sectors that must be considered, the Government has lightened the burden of life for the lower classes, where the level of income of the community has increased, while the level of needs has also increased,” Faisyal concluded.
