A Gift for the First Year of the Prabowo–Gibran Administration: Equitable Healthcare, Abundant Food, and Stable Energy

Jakarta — The administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka continues to deliver tangible results across key strategic sectors — healthcare, food, and energy. These three pillars form the foundation for strengthening national resilience and improving public welfare, marking an impressive first year of leadership.

In the health sector, the Free Health Checkup Program (CKG) has become a flagship initiative to ensure equitable access to healthcare across Indonesia. Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that millions of people have already benefited from the program.

“We’re already seeing results. We can now identify the major health issues — out of the 36 million participants, the most common are dental problems, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar, which all require further treatment,” said Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

In addition to the CKG program, the government is targeting the construction of 500 new hospitals within the next four years. President Prabowo emphasized that this effort reflects the state’s commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare services are accessible even at the district level.

Meanwhile, in the food sector, major achievements have been recorded through the success of rice self-sufficiency across various regions in Indonesia. Minister of Agriculture and Head of the National Food Agency, Andi Amran Sulaiman, stated that several provinces in Kalimantan are now no longer dependent on rice supplies from outside the region.

“Out of five provinces in Kalimantan, four have already achieved rice self-sufficiency, and as a result, inflation has thankfully been kept under control,” he said.

The government is also reinforcing the production of key commodities such as rice, corn, and white sugar. Through food downstreaming strategies, the added value of agricultural products continues to rise, ensuring both stable supplies and affordable prices for basic goods.

Indonesia’s national rice stock has now surpassed 4 million tons, the highest in history — marking the end of medium rice imports.

At the same time, the energy sector has also shown significant progress. Energy analyst from the Gerilya Institute, Subhkan Agung Sulistio, highlighted the increase in oil production (lifting) from around 430,000 barrels to nearly 600,000 barrels per day as a major achievement during the first year of the Prabowo–Gibran administration.

He also praised the government’s policy of legalizing community-operated oil wells, calling it a strategic move to strengthen local energy independence.

“Old wells yield small outputs, so it’s better to hand them over to local communities. At the very least, this policy promotes energy self-reliance at the local level,” he concluded.
