By having the next generation of independent young people, Indonesia will automatically not be less competitive when compared to other developed countries in the world. For this reason, everything must go through a series of thorough preparation processes, one of which is through AMN Manado as an academic and social laboratory.
In fact, just having an independent young generation is not enough. Because the independence of these young people must then be managed optimally to be able to become or produce something.
When the young generation is independent, the next step is how to further improve their skills so that they have superior competitiveness and become quality young human resources (HR).
The reason is that the role that young people have is very central or important in national development, especially ahead of the peak of the demographic bonus, namely in 2030, when youth will number up to 64.19 million people, of course this can greatly determine how sustainable economic development is. country.
Regarding efforts to face this big challenge, Assistant Deputy for Youth Empowerment at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) Yohan said that the best effort is to continue to raise the entrepreneurial spirit of the younger generation to produce young entrepreneurs who are able to open up many new job opportunities. and increasingly beneficial to the surrounding area.
In this regard, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) under the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also continues to strive to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit of young people and mobilize them as motors for national economic development by realizing Indonesia as a country that is competitive on the international stage.
It is an indicator that this nation is a highly competitive country, namely when the number of national entrepreneurs becomes at least 4% (percent), including the active contribution of its young entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, to be able to raise the young generation’s successors to have a high entrepreneurial spirit so that they can become independent, it is very important to mobilize all their potential and behavior to become successful young entrepreneurs and take advantage of various opportunities.
All young people in Indonesia actually have very high levels of creativity and innovation, so it is important to continue to foster a good ecosystem so that the young generation can continue to develop or develop their potential, talents and interests with even better innovation.
The existence of the Manado Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN) is one of the government’s strategies in order to continue to improve the quality of its young human resources (HR).
According to the President’s Special Staff (Stafsus) for Education, Innovation and Outermost Regional Development, Billy Mambrasar, the Head of State is very focused on education and human resource development. This seriousness can even be seen in the large allocation of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) in the education sector, namely up to 20% (percent).
Regarding the direction to focus on improving the education sector to boost the development of quality human resources, this also includes the development of higher education such as AMN Manado.
So, it is not surprising why the North Sulawesi Provincial Secretary (Sekprov), Steve Kepel, said that the Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) in Manado is not just a physical building or residence for young people, but is also a social, intellectual and entrepreneurial laboratory.
For this reason, there is a lot of provision that young people will get from it, not only related to the academic world, but also non-academic in various areas of their lives.
This program initiated by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) focuses not only on producing students as an intelligent generation, but also that they can become the successors of success in their educational journey in the North Sulawesi region.
The contribution of various parties is very important to continue to fully support the education sector, because in reality this sector is not only the responsibility of one party, but must be a joint focus, both government and private, to advance it for the sake of an independent young generation so that they have the means to develop both academic and social worlds.
