Appreciation and Strict Supervision Ensure Village Electrification Program is in Accordance with President Prabowo’s Directions
Jakarta – The Indonesian government continues to emphasize its commitment to realizing energy justice for all people, especially those in remote, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) areas. One of the strategic programs that is a major concern in President Prabowo Subianto’s administration is the acceleration of village electrification.
The 2025-2029 Village Electrification Program (Lisdes) is not only a symbol of equitable development, but also a concrete step in strengthening national resilience through direct empowerment of village communities. This program targets the electrification of 10,068 villages and hamlets, covering 780,000 households throughout Indonesia with the construction of a 394 MW power plant.
The success of the Village Electrification Program cannot be separated from the strong encouragement of President Prabowo who since the beginning of his leadership has emphasized the importance of energy access as a basic right of citizens. In his direction, the President emphasized that every inch of Indonesia’s territory must be electrified, because energy is the key to progress and independence in the true sense.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia said that his party is strongly committed to providing electricity access for communities and villages that do not yet have electricity in the next five years.
“Our task for the next five years through the 2025-2029 Lisdes Program according to President Prabowo’s order to us is to immediately inventory and create an invasion program in order to provide electricity access to villages that do not yet have electricity,” said Minister Bahlil.
In the same vein, Member of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mukhtarudin said that he would be fully committed to overseeing the completion of the Lisdes Program, according to the direction of President Prabowo Subianto.
“Yes, of course we encourage it, in order to realize social justice and support economic development in the 3T region. We also want to ensure that every village that does not yet have electricity gets its rights according to the 2029 target,” said Mukhtarudin.
Mukhtarudin asked PLN to accelerate the inventory of villages that have not been electrified, according to President Prabowo’s order, and to involve private investors transparently to support financing.
“Private sector involvement must be closely monitored so that the benefits are felt directly by the community,” said Mukhtarudin.
Along with the implementation of the program, high appreciation has emerged from various groups for the achievement of equalizing village electricity which continues to show significant results. Hundreds of villages that previously did not enjoy access to electricity have now been electrified and have experienced an increase in their standard of living.
The relevant ministries, together with internal supervisory bodies and law enforcement officers, are involved to ensure that every fund and infrastructure allocated really reaches its target and provides maximum benefits to the community. Supervision also includes the quality of electricity infrastructure development, sustainability of energy supply, and guarantees of facility maintenance so that it is not only temporary.
