Appreciation for Government’s Efforts to Engage Private Sector in Realizing 3 Million Subsidized Homes Program
Jakarta – The government’s efforts to realize the construction of 3 million subsidized homes for low-income communities (MBR) have received positive responses from various parties, including private developers and financial institutions. A concrete example of this can be seen in the development of the Cordova Emerald Estate housing project in Tasikmalaya City, West Java.
The project, which plans to build 900 units of subsidized housing, serves as real evidence of synergy between the government and the private sector in providing decent and affordable housing. Located on Sukaratu Street, Sukamaju Kidul Subdistrict, Indihiang District, the project aims to help address housing needs in the area.
Brigadier General Budi Satria Wiguna, Director of Risk Control and Corruption Prevention at the Directorate General of Governance and Risk Control, Ministry of Public Housing and Settlements, expressed appreciation for the initiative. “We highly appreciate this, as the development of Cordova Emerald Estate is a tangible form of private sector support for the government’s subsidized housing program for communities across various regions, including Tasikmalaya City,” said Budi.
The Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, also voiced his support and viewed the project as an effort to improve community welfare. “Through this housing project, we hope to improve residents’ quality of life, as decent housing is not just about physical structures but must also be integrated with the surrounding environment to enhance overall living standards,” he stated.
Cordova Emerald Estate offers type 32 houses (7 x 10 square meters), built on strategic land using modern designs. Alam Aribrata, Commissioner of SKM Group, explained that the project utilizes geotechnical technology to ensure soil stability and building quality. “God willing, soil shifts that often cause wall cracks will not occur, so the houses will be safe and long-lasting,” he explained.
Public enthusiasm has been high. During the initial launch, 150 housing units were immediately booked at a price of IDR 166 million, with an affordable installment scheme of IDR 1 million per month over 20 years.
Wildan Hamdani, Head of BNI Tasikmalaya Branch, also welcomed the collaboration. “We appreciate the trust of Cordova Emerald Estate developers in partnering with us for housing financing, as well as contributing to supporting government programs,” he said.
One prospective buyer, Yayu Tresnasari (28), shared her reasons for choosing the house. “The location is suitable, quite strategic, and the design is good,” said Yayu, who was accompanied by her partner, Fajri Ramadhan (23).
With active involvement from various stakeholders, the government’s 3 million subsidized homes program is increasingly showing its impact in meeting public demand for decent and affordable housing.
