ASEAN Summit, Indonesia Strengthens Bilateral Relations with ASEAN Countries
West Manggarai – At the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia carried out bilateral cooperation with several ASEAN countries. Several bilateral meetings held by Indonesia have resulted in profitable agreements for Indonesia.
The ASEAN Summit this time was held in Labuan Bajo on May 9-11, with the theme ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth.
On the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit meeting held in Labuan Bajo, each head of state will not miss bilateral meetings between countries to be able to establish cooperation between countries.
Indonesia has also held bilateral meetings with various ASEAN countries to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
President Joko Widodo in his meeting with ASEAN countries, paid attention to the trade of regional countries. For this reason, Jokowi hopes that cooperation will be established to increase trade in the region.
“I conveyed my concern for trade in Indonesian products in the region, and vice versa, so I invited ASEAN countries to become partners,” Jokowi said.
In the future, there will be many bilateral meetings between ASEAN countries that will take place during the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo. The number of bilateral meetings between ASEAN countries is a step in developing and improving the economy of Indonesia and the region.
