BIN, TNI-Polri Ready to Guard WWF Bali Delegation’s Agenda

Indonesia is hosting the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) which will be held on 18 – 25 May 2024 in Bali. This forum is the largest cross-border forum in the world with a focus on discussing and handling water issues, which is jointly organized by the World Water Council and the Indonesian Government.
The Indonesian National Army (TNI), the Indonesian Republic Police (Polri), and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) were involved in securing the 10th WWF in Bali.
BIN itself has previously been involved in various international events. Such as the G20 Summit, the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, and the AIS Summit in Bali. Security by BIN is of course expected to be able to provide a sense of security to the delegates.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Force Commander, Colonel Pnb Agni Prayogo, SE, together with the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport stakeholders held a preparatory coordination meeting ahead of the implementation of the 10th WWF in Bali. I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Base will provide the best support for WFF activities and will collaborate and synergize with all stakeholders within I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and related agencies in ensuring security, comfort and flight support for state guests and delegates.
The IX/Udayana Regional Military Command carried out inspections at four locations for the 10th World Water Forum in 2024 to ensure the readiness of these locations. Head of the Expert Staff Group (Kapoksahli) of Pangdam IX/Udayana, Brigadier General TNI Agus Muchlis Latif said there were four main places that would be used for the event, namely the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Garuda Wisnu Kencana ( GWK) and Mangrove Forest Park (Tahura) which are the main locations in the 10th WWF activities.
Agus Latif added that WWF is very different from the G20 Summit, because the number of heads of state attending will be greater and all their ministers will be invited, so expectations can reach 20,000 participants.
By referring to the developments of heads of state and delegates who attended the 10th WWF meeting in 2024 in Bali, the Udayana Military Command as the person responsible for securing VVIP guests has made various preparations. One of them is forming a Regional Security Task Force in accordance with the VVIP security procedures (Protap).
Apart from reviewing the location of the international event, stakeholders from the TNI, Polri and related ministries and agencies held a coordination meeting to prepare for the presence of the VVIP delegation at the 10th World Water Forum in 2024 at the BICC Ballroom in the ITDC Nusa Dua area, Badung, Bali.
In line with the success of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in 2024, a number of preparations have been made by the central and regional governments, as well as in terms of security, both hotels and venues visited by WWF participants. Especially the Nusa Dua area, which is a place that is an international scale event. The International Tourism Development Corporation (lTDC) Nusa Dua security team has made preparations in terms of security.
Chief Security Officer of ITDC Nusa Dua, I Putu Gede Warga, said that reflecting on the successful security system for large events such as the G20, his party always coordinates with the TNI-Polri and other security elements. As well as the participation of regional buffer villages and all levels of society to support and make the WWF event in Bali a success.
Several hotels in the ITDC area will be used as accommodation for VVIP/VIP guests. upcoming WWF. Apart from the Nusa Dua area, there are also places outside such as the Conrad Hotel, Mercure, Intercontinental and The Patra Kuta Tuban which are used by Heads of State or delegates who attend.
Security personnel continue to be increased by security forces, such as the Bali Police who are on full alert to secure the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, 18-25 May 2024. A total of 1,700 surveillance cameras have been installed and 5,791 combined personnel from various agencies will be deployed to ensure the smooth and safe operation of this international event.
Head of Public Relations of the Bali Regional Police, Police Commissioner. Jansen Avitus Panjaitan said that his party had divided security into four clusters, namely Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Kuta and Sanur. Each cluster has responsibilities in its own security zone.
The aim of holding the 10th WWF 2024 is as a medium to improve Indonesia’s nation branding internationally. Apart from reputation, the goal of public relations in this forum is important to have an impact , change knowledge, change attitudes, and most importantly change our behavior in treating water.
