Jakarta — The Indonesian government has launched the 2025 Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) program as part of its strategy to reinforce social safety nets for workers. This program is expected to help safeguard workers’ purchasing power and economic resilience amid ongoing global and national economic uncertainties.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, continues to strengthen its role as a strategic partner of the government in delivering tangible benefits to the community and promoting sustainable welfare for workers. One of BRI’s contributions is its active involvement in supporting government programs, including the distribution of BSU.

BRI’s Corporate Secretary, Agustya Hendy Bernadi, stated that BRI’s role in distributing subsidy assistance has been part of the company’s commitment to remain present and provide real benefits within the community.

“Through this pro-people government program, BRI remains committed to strengthening its role as a development agent by providing accessible, secure, and impactful financial services for the broader public,” he said.

It should be noted that the 2025 BSU program has been reintroduced by the government as part of its efforts to strengthen national economic stimulus.

Meanwhile, BRI’s Director of Corporate Banking, Riko Tasmaya, emphasized that this assignment aligns with BRI’s role as an agent of development.

“We are grateful for the government’s trust in BRI for the distribution of BSU. With our extensive network reaching remote areas and the utilization of BRI’s digital banking technology such as BRImo and AgenBRILink, BSU distribution can be carried out more efficiently and reach all levels of society,” Riko explained.

He further stated that BRI’s success in distributing BSU not only provides a stimulus to public purchasing power but also serves as concrete proof of collaboration between the government and the banking sector in accelerating national economic recovery.

“As a bank focused on empowering the MSME segment, BRI consistently supports the government’s strategic programs to realize financial inclusion and sustainable social welfare,” Riko concluded.

BSU 2025 is part of the government’s broader policy to build a fair, adaptive, and inclusive labor ecosystem. Through this initiative, the government hopes workers will remain optimistic about the future and continue contributing to national economic recovery and growth.
