Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s administration continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to building a healthy and productive future for the younger generation through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. On the occasion of Youth Pledge Day, the President emphasized that the spirit of mutual cooperation inherited from the nation’s founders is now being realized in concrete policies that have a direct impact on the people.

“This program stems from our determination to ensure every Indonesian child grows up healthy and ready to compete,” said President Prabowo.

The President explained that by October 2025, the MBG program had reached more than 36.7 million beneficiaries across Indonesia. He credited this achievement to the hard work of various sectors to strengthen the foundation of human resources from an early age.

“Children must eat nutritious food, because they are the future of the nation,” said the President.

He added that the government will continue to expand its reach and ensure food quality so that the program’s benefits are felt evenly across all regions.

Furthermore, the President emphasized that the MBG is not just a social assistance program, but a strategic investment to develop a superior generation that will lead Indonesia in the future. He considered health and nutrition to be key to successful long-term development.

“If children’s nutrition is good, the future of the nation will also be strong,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Dental Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, said the government continues to accelerate the construction of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) kitchens throughout Indonesia as part of the national Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

“Alhamdulillah, as of today, 13,245 SPPGs have been built, and we are pursuing a target of 14,000 units by the end of October 2025. As well as 25,400 units by the end of December in the agglomeration area,” said Dadan.

Furthermore, the government is also accelerating the construction of SPPGs in remote areas, targeting 6,000 units. Currently, approximately 4,770 units have been completed, with the remainder expected to be completed soon.

This is done to ensure that all communities, including those in the 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost) regions, can benefit from the MBG program. “This ensures that food arrives on time, in the right quantities, and to the right recipients,” said Dadan.

“We provide encouragement, evaluate achievements, and disseminate the latest SOPs so that the SPPG program can be implemented more effectively,” he said.

The government targets that SPPG development will reach 82.9 million beneficiaries by the end of 2025. SPPGs are expected to serve as the backbone of the MBG program.
