Closing of the 2nd IPPP, Encouraging Partnership between Pacific Countries in Realizing Food Security

Jakarta – Indonesia – The 2nd Pacific Parliamentary Partnership (IPPP) officially closed on July 25 2024 and resulted in various commitments. The Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, emphasized the importance of increasing partnerships between Pacific countries, especially in the field of food security.

“The 2nd IPPP has become an important platform for us to dialogue and share experiences. The DPR RI will fully support the initiatives resulting from this forum. “Global dynamics have created a threat of instability in food supplies, this problem must be resolved together,” stressed the Chair of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani

Puan Maharani also emphasized the need for policies that support food security.

“The Indonesian House of Representatives is committed to pushing policies that can strengthen national and regional food security. With strategic partnerships between Pacific countries, we can strengthen our food systems and ensure there is enough food for all.” Puan said.

Puan Maharani emphasized the importance of food security as a top priority,

“Food security is the foundation for the stability and prosperity of our society. Cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food technology and natural resource management will be our main focus in the future. I am sure, with the spirit of collaboration that has been established during this IPPP, we can face global food challenges more effectively.” he said.

The 2nd IPPP Forum has produced various agreements and action plans that will become the basis for further cooperation among Pacific countries.

Through strong commitment and close cooperation, it is hoped that the common goal of increasing food security can be achieved well.
