Commemorating the 97th Youth Pledge Day: The Government is Committed to Improving the Quality of Younger Human Resources with Real Programs

Jakarta – Hariqo Wibawa Satria, the Chief Expert of the Government Communications Agency, said that amidst the commemoration of the 97th Youth Pledge Day, President Jokowi is committed to improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) of Indonesia’s young generation with concrete programs such as People’s Schools, Garuda Schools, Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), Free Health Checks (CKG), National Internships and Food Security (Millennial Farmers).
This was conveyed by Hariqo Wibawa Satria during a dialogue on a national television station in Jakarta, Tuesday 10/28/2025.
According to him, when Mr. Prabowo became president, he immediately launched a free health checkup program for all Indonesians without exception. This is the largest program in Indonesia, with 45 million beneficiaries already benefiting, and it continues to grow daily.
In addition, there is also the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, the benefits of which have been felt by the wider community.
“The MBG program now has 37 million beneficiaries, has created a new workforce, has created 12,000 SPPG kitchens, millions of parents, and thousands of MSMEs. This is the first program in history and has never been seen before. The number of beneficiaries continues to grow every day,” he explained.
He added that not only that, during the Prabowo-Gibran administration, there had been school improvements, tens of thousands of school improvements.
“There’s a budget of 22 trillion rupiah for school revitalization and the creation of 400,000 new jobs. This is the largest school revitalization program in the reform era,” Hariqo said.
“Other preparations are also being implemented. There’s interactive flat panels, which are currently being distributed to 200,000 schools across Indonesia. They’ve already been distributed to 70,000 schools,” concluded the Principal Expert at the Government Communications Agency.
Hariqo revealed that extracurricular activities are now free, and each student even receives a laptop. The President honored our brothers and sisters in deciles 1 and 2.
“The government really wants its people to be protected from gambling, drugs, and other internet dangers. For children living on the border, there’s an allowance for specialist doctors who receive over 30 million rupiah to serve our children,” he said.
Hariqo Wibawa also mentioned that there will be further revitalization and increased hospital capacity, making it easier for mothers and children to get to the hospital. All of this is for three reasons: Indonesian children must be healthy, live long, and achieve.
“What we should appreciate about this Youth Pledge is that in just one year, there has been no polarization like before. Because on October 28th, we swore to be one Indonesian nation. Hopefully, this will be a stepping stone for a foundation, so that in 2026 we can move even faster,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Government Communications Agency Expert added, more than 1 million students receive the KIP Kuliah, teachers also receive professional allowances, including non-ASN, and there are incentives for honorary workers.
Hariqo also emphasized that young people should not engage in corruption and should not harm society, because that is contrary to the spirit of the Youth Pledge.
“The main spirit of the Youth Pledge is to remind each other and together reject corruption for the sake of a clean and dignified Indonesia,” he said.
On the same occasion, Papuan youth figure Billy Mambrasar stated that the involvement of young men and women in running the MBG kitchen was significant, enabling them to feed students and engage millennial farmers. The President’s program is not a one-off project, but rather a unified effort.
“Millennial farmers also provide for the MBG needs, which are then managed by local people for schools, and everything becomes a unified whole with an impact that cannot be measured in the short term, because this human development will take 10-20 years for Indonesia to harvest later,” said Billy.
Billy Mambrasar explained that the spirit of the 97th Youth Pledge is to have equal opportunities.
“The spirit of the Youth Pledge has a meaning not only numerically, but also philosophically. One means everyone has the same opportunity,” he said.
Many local governments are seizing the opportunity as members of the Papuan executive, seizing the opportunity given by President Prabowo to maximize existing education and access programs, he explained.
According to the Harvard-educated Papuan youth figure, everything must be two-way, the government provides opportunities and the youth seize those opportunities, don’t be passive, everyone has the same opportunity to take advantage of the opportunities that exist.
“We have run a food pantry program together with the local community. They also have income and jobs, even providing jobs for others,” he said.
Billy added that youth involvement is also very important so that they have the courage to take risks and seize the opportunities provided by the government.
“The spirit of the Youth Pledge must be implemented in everyday life as a tangible form of love for the homeland, social responsibility, and active participation in national development,” he concluded.
