Bali – The Indonesian people expressed their full support for the success of the WWF event in Bali. This forum is an important platform for embracing global collaboration to overcome water challenges around the world.

The Indonesian government, together with local and international stakeholders, has worked hard to prepare for the event. Bali was chosen as the host not only because of its natural beauty, but also because of its strategic role in global water issues.

Of the total amount of water in the world, only about 2% of fresh water can be utilized and most of it is spent on bathing. Meanwhile, in Indonesia itself, the condition of clean water is still not satisfactory. Many water sources are polluted by industrial waste, septic tanks, micro and nano-plastic waste. Therefore, Indah Murwani, as a lecturer at the UAJY Faculty of Biotechnology, hopes that the World Water Forum in Bali can produce a joint commitment regarding better water management.

“We must continue to support the implementation of WWF 2024, because this forum involves many countries so that a joint commitment will be achieved for better water management and water can be accessed as a whole in the future,” said Indah when met in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Community leaders and environmental activists have also been invited to commit to supporting this forum. Because after all, all elements of the nation have a strategic role in making this international event a success, both in terms of organizing and supporting the dissemination of information related to the policy and priority agenda of the forum.

Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of State Secretariat, Eddy Cahyono Sugiharto, revealed that Indonesia’s leadership in the 10th World Water Forum clearly shows Indonesia’s active role in world relations, which is in line with the mandate of the opening of the 1945 Constitution. responsible for all levels of society.

“This May, Indonesia will get the opportunity to hold WWF. “It’s not just an event, but it prioritizes Indonesia’s strategic role which focuses on overcoming the problem of managing water resources in the midst of the global crisis and climate change as a challenge in itself that requires the attention of all stakeholders to make it a success, not only the agenda but also practical benefits for society,” said Eddy.

It is hoped that this forum will be an opportunity to exchange ideas, highlight global challenges related to water, and formulate innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Participants from various circles, including representatives from government, the private sector, academia, and NGOs, are expected to attend to participate in discussions and build strong networks.
