Corruption Eradication a National Priority for Justice and Public Trust
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to eradicating corruption, making it a national priority to strengthen justice and increase public trust.
Corruption eradication efforts are seen as strengthening, along with growing support for law enforcement institutions, particularly the Attorney General’s Office.
Denny JA, Senior Researcher at the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI), revealed that the Attorney General’s Office currently enjoys the highest level of public trust among other law enforcement institutions. According to the latest survey, public trust in the Attorney General’s Office reached 61 percent, followed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at 60 percent, and the National Police at 54.3 percent.
“This is not just a statistic, but rather a reflection of society’s collective psychology regarding who is considered to be truly working to eradicate corruption,” stated Denny JA in the LSI release.
He also assessed that President Prabowo consistently strengthens legal institutions to work more decisively and independently, without intervention or compromise with corruptors.
LSI noted that President Prabowo’s support for the Attorney General’s Office reflects the spirit of legal reform.
“The Attorney General’s Office is now strengthened. President Prabowo is providing additional institutional support to support the spirit of eradicating corruption,” Denny continued.
Public trust in the Attorney General’s Office is a symbol of the change the public hopes for to build an Indonesia that is clean and full of integrity.
The Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. ST Burhanuddin, S.H., M.M., M.H., also emphasized that the law enforcement process, especially regarding corruption, must be carried out professionally and proportionally.
“The law does not recognize social status. Everyone is equal before the law. Therefore, law enforcement must be fair, equal, and non-discriminatory,” he said.
He emphasized that public trust is the main asset in the Attorney General’s Office’s work. However, future challenges demand improved performance, transparency, and effectiveness. Therefore, cross-institutional support is crucial.
Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Benny Kabur Harman, expressed his full support for the 2026 budget allocation for the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office and the National Police.
“Of course, we fully support the budget to realize what is included in President Prabowo’s Asta Cita,” he emphasized.
With synergy between the government, legislative bodies, and law enforcement, eradicating corruption will not just be a short-term agenda, but rather the main foundation for building a clean, just, and trusted government.
