The housing sector is a crucial pillar of national economic development, not only affecting the physical aspect but also contributing significantly to public welfare. In an effort to strengthen this sector, the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) has emerged as a driving force for the people’s economy in the housing sector, with a substantial commitment to supporting the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program worth IDR 130 trillion. This strategic support is concrete evidence of Indonesia’s growing economic independence, standing firmly on its own two feet without relying on foreign loans.

The Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, stated that Danantara’s presence in financing the housing sector is part of a national policy aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s independence. He emphasized that this year his ministry will not take foreign loans, a move considered very rational and a symbol of the nation’s ability to develop independently. In other words, Danantara’s support is not only about funding, but also a symbol of economic independence that fosters a spirit of nationalism in the construction of people’s homes.

BPI Danantara, as the entity managing the investment, has expressed its readiness to support the 3 Million Homes Program. This is the government’s ambitious program to provide adequate housing for low-income communities en masse. Maruarar explained that his office is currently designing a distribution scheme for the IDR 130 trillion fund to ensure optimal absorption within the next six months. This requires the preparation of resilient, professional, and highly integrated human resources to ensure effective and targeted program implementation.

The funds allocated by Danantara will be focused on financing the People’s Business Credit (KUR) in the housing sector, which is still technically in the regulatory finalization stage. This demonstrates the government and Danantara’s readiness to ensure all mechanisms are transparent and in accordance with regulations, ensuring that the program’s benefits truly reach those in need.

This support is a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto, who strongly emphasizes the importance of developing the housing sector without relying on foreign loans. This principle reflects the vision of economic sovereignty that must be realized in every national development program. Furthermore, international trust in Danantara is growing, as evidenced by the investment interest from the Emir of Qatar, who is ready to join. This exemplifies how Danantara has been able to capture global attention while simultaneously opening up profitable investment opportunities without compromising its independence.

Meanwhile, Danantara’s Chief Executive Officer, Rosan Roeslani, expressed the positive impression regarding the synergy established with various banks, including the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara), Bank Syariah Indonesia, and Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN). This intensive communication aims to ensure the proper distribution of housing funding by the end of the year, with total funds estimated to reach IDR 130 trillion. Rosan emphasized that this support is crucial because housing projects not only address basic community needs but also serve as economic drivers capable of providing multiplier effects on other sectors.

Rosan also explained that the financing scheme provided convenience for the public with competitive interest subsidies and an efficient administrative process. This makes housing financing more affordable and accelerates the realization of housing construction. Furthermore, the banks involved in this program feel confident because they have collateral from the financed homes, thus minimizing financing risks.

Danantara’s involvement in the 3 Million Homes Program extends beyond funding, providing assurance that all processes comply with applicable regulations. Rosan emphasized that while Danantara provides full support, banks must meet certain criteria to ensure the program runs optimally and responsibly. This demonstrates a commitment to transparency and professionalism in implementing public housing projects.

Furthermore, these public housing projects also stimulate various related economic sectors, such as construction, building materials, labor, and financial services. This encourages inclusive and sustainable economic growth, the benefits of which are directly felt by the wider community. This program also serves as a milestone in strengthening the national economic structure based on domestic potential and resources.

It is undeniable that economic independence is key to facing increasingly complex global challenges.complex. By supporting housing sector financing through Danantara, Indonesia demonstrates confidence and optimism in building an independent and prosperous future. This also serves as an example of how synergy between the government, investment bodies, banks, and the community can produce real progress.

Danantara is present as a driving force for the people’s economy, bringing fresh air to the housing sector in Indonesia. Its strong commitment to supporting the 3 Million Houses Program with funding of IDR 130 trillion is a concrete manifestation of the nation’s spirit of independence and self-confidence. This support will not only accelerate the provision of adequate housing for the community but also strengthen the foundation of the national economy. With continued synergy between the government, Danantara, and banks, the future of public housing in Indonesia looks increasingly bright and hopeful.
