Danantara Strengthens National Synergy Towards a Sustainable Economy

By: Silvia AP
To strengthen national economic resilience and growth amid complex and dynamic global challenges, enhanced collaboration between the government and all elements of the nation is essential. In today’s era, cross-sector collaboration is a necessity—where synergy between the government, business actors, academia, communities, and the private sector forms a crucial foundation for designing and implementing policies that have real impact on society.
It is within this context that Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) emerges—not only as a player in the digital economic ecosystem but also as a catalyst for building strategic collaboration aimed at holistically strengthening the national economy.
Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara, Dony Oskaria, stated that Danantara, together with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), holds a strategic role in fostering collaboration to advance national economic progress.
Dony clarified that Danantara is not a competitor to KADIN—which serves as a platform for entrepreneurs at both national and regional levels—but acts as a catalyst that enhances synergy and efficiency among State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), in line with the policy direction of the Ministry of SOEs. In addition, Danantara also supports various high-potential investments.
Chairman of KADIN Indonesia, Anindya Bakrie, noted that in a recent meeting between KADIN and Danantara’s COO, several strategic areas for potential collaboration were discussed, including the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), People’s Business Credit (KUR), affordable housing provision, toll road construction, and strengthening food and energy security. KADIN and Danantara are also planning to formalize this synergy through a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
One key aspect of Danantara’s support for strategic collaboration lies in its role in strengthening national supply chains. Many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) face challenges in accessing markets, financing, and technology. Through Danantara’s digital integration, MSMEs are given the tools to access market information, connect with raw material suppliers, and sell their products directly to consumers both domestically and internationally. This aligns with the government’s agenda of driving digital transformation among MSMEs and reinforcing local economic self-reliance.
A strong national economy requires the active participation of all components of society. Danantara views collaboration as a fundamental principle of sustainable development. Therefore, an inclusive approach is the hallmark of every initiative it undertakes. Involvement of local communities, social institutions, and marginalized groups is not only a form of social responsibility but a strategic move to ensure inclusive economic growth that reaches all layers of society. The success of a digital economic ecosystem depends on its ability to embrace everyone, including those previously untouched by technological and market developments.
Danantara also recognizes the importance of synergy between local governments and business actors in building a sustainable local economy. Local governments play a strategic role in creating a conducive ecosystem for economic growth. Through cooperation with Danantara, many regions are beginning to develop their unique potentials using technology-based approaches—ranging from digital marketing of local products, development of smart tourism destinations, to the use of regional data for development planning. In this regard, Danantara acts as a strategic partner in transforming local economic governance to become more adaptive and future-oriented.
PTPP Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, stated that Danantara is a vital pillar in building an ecosystem of economic self-reliance and sustainability. With the consolidation of national economic power, Indonesia will be better prepared to face global challenges and realize the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. Therefore, PTPP is ready to commit and collaborate.
Danantara also contributes to bridging existing gaps by offering localized technological solutions and promoting digital literacy programs targeting grassroots communities. This effort ensures that the benefits of the digital economy are not only concentrated in urban centers but also reach remote and rural areas across the country.
As part of the national digital economy ecosystem, Danantara understands that sustainability is a non-negotiable principle. Therefore, all initiatives are not only geared towards economic growth but also consider environmental and social aspects. Collaboration with green economy players, circular economy initiatives, and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles are all part of Danantara’s grand strategy to support the transition to a green economy. In the context of climate change and increasing pressure on natural resources, this approach is both relevant and urgent.
Through structured, participatory, and technology-based collaboration, Danantara is introducing a new model of economic development that places the people as the central actors. This is a tangible manifestation of economic democratization—where access to opportunities, resources, and information is equally distributed among all Indonesians. On the road to realizing the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision, the role of actors like Danantara is crucial—not only as solution providers but also as agents of change who bring the spirit of mutual cooperation into a modern and competitive digital ecosystem.
