The Dayah Journalistic Work Competition held by the Aneuk Muda Aceh Unggul Besar (AMANAH) program is a forum for students to show their entrepreneurial potential. In this competition, students from various schools in Aceh Province compete to produce the best written works and videos.

One of the judges, Hendra Saputra, expressed the importance of this activity in training students to get used to writing. “This competition trains students to get used to writing. So, if we get used to writing, people will know what the students do. “What is the daily life of students like,” he said.

In this competition, AMANAH received dozens of written works and videos from various dayah in Aceh Province. The participants are students and members of the teacher’s council in their Dayah with an age range of 17-35 years.

The works of the participants previously went through a selection process by the AMANAH team to become 25 written works and 10 video works. Next, the work is assessed by a jury to determine the winner.

In this competition, first place in the written work category was won by Wilda Shaleha from Dayah Babussalam Al Aziziyah, followed by Syahrul Akhyar from Dayah MUDI Mesjid Raya Samalanga in second place, and Harwalis from Dayah Al Madinatul Munawwarah Al Waaliyah in third place. Meanwhile, for the video work category, first place was awarded to Baihaki from Dayah Bustanu Malikussaleh, who managed to beat Muhammad Zakki from Dayah MUDI Mesjid Raya Samalanga in second place, and Al Murtaza in third place.

In assessing the participants’ work, Hendra revealed that various interesting topics were raised by the participants, ranging from Islamic boarding school profiles to the daily activities of Islamic boarding school students. “Earlier, someone raised the issue of the Islamic boarding school’s profile. Then, someone raised the question of the students’ activities while at Dayah. “Then, there were those who raised the entrepreneurial spirit of students in Dayah,” he explained.

This competition is part of the Dayahpreneur program initiated by AMANAH to introduce the concept of entrepreneurship in the Dayah environment. Apart from that, AMANAH also encourages the interest of students and teacher councils in the field of journalism through this activity. “Thank you to AMANAH for creating this journalistic work competition. I think this is pretty good. This is a place to train students. “Sometimes the students don’t dare to appear, but with this competition they can show off,” concluded Hendra.
