Jakarta — The University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) is entering a crucial phase with the election of its Chairperson for the 2025–2028 term. Among the candidates, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, Sp.P, MARS, a 1987 alumna of the UI Faculty of Medicine, has garnered widespread attention thanks to her fresh ideas emphasizing collaboration across faculties and generations.
Dewi, who received number 6 in this nomination, brings a big vision entitled “Building a UI Alumni Association that is united, progressive, inclusive, and has a real impact on alumni, alma mater, and the nation towards Golden Indonesia 2045.” Through the spirit of “guyub” which she made as the axis of movement, Dewi invited alumni to build solidarity with the tagline “U & I Guyub, U and I become Us.”
“Guyub is not just about togetherness, but the strength to move forward collectively,” Dewi Puspitorini emphasized.
One of the flagship programs he is promoting is the complete digitalization of the UI Alumni Association through the development of the UI Connect platform. This platform will serve as an interactive space that brings together alumni from various regions and even internationally, creating more effective and productive collaboration.
Support for Dewi has come from various parties, including Dr. Wawan Mulyawan, Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia. He described Dewi as a figure capable of bridging the diverse backgrounds of alumni.
“Dewi is a figure who is able to embrace across faculties and generations, and truly understands the challenges faced by alumni today,” said Wawan Mulyawan.
Dewi’s track record adds to her leadership credentials. She served as Director of the Healthcare Professionals at RSPAD and was entrusted with the role of the President’s personal physician. Her extensive career in organizations, from Secretary General of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (ILUNI), Deputy Chairperson of ILUNI, Secretary General of FIAKSI, to Chairperson of IKAMARS UI, demonstrates her consistent support for alumni movements.
In addition to focusing on the election, Dewi also encourages concrete activities that strengthen alumni solidarity. One such initiative is “UI Alumni We Care!”, which will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, on the 5th floor of the IASTH Building, Jalan Salemba Raya No. 4, Central Jakarta. The event, which runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. WIB, will involve alumni from across faculties, final-year students, recent graduates, industry players, professionals, and the business community.
The event featured a varied series of events. A job fair presented job opportunities across various industry sectors, an entrepreneurship talk show inspired young alumni, and a culinary bazaar supported alumni-owned MSMEs. Free health checks and a live entertainment stage enlivened the atmosphere, making the event more than just a gathering, but also a platform for sharing tangible benefits.
With an inclusive vision and concrete programs, Dewi demonstrates that ILUNI UI’s future leadership will not only focus on strengthening the organization internally, but also on making tangible contributions to the wider community. This collective spirit is expected to serve as a strong foundation for establishing ILUNI UI as an adaptive, modern, and globally competitive alumni organization.
