Papua – Secretary General of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Red and White Front of the Republic of Indonesia, Ali Kabiay, has firmly asked the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST Papua) to release the Susi Air pilot, Captain Philip Merthens, who is innocent of the charges leveled against him.

Captain Philip Merthens, a prominent professional in the aviation industry, has been detained by KST Papua on unfounded charges. Secretary General of the DPP Barisan Merah Putih Republik Indonesia Ali Kabiay stated that the detention action was unfair and detrimental to the captain concerned.

Ali Kabiay, in his statement, emphasized the importance of justice in law enforcement. “We demand that KST Papua treat Captain Philip Merthens fairly and stop his baseless detention. He is an innocent professional and deserves freedom,” he said.

Furthermore, Ali Kabiay emphasized that the detention of Captain Philip Merthens by KST Papua damaged the reputation of security and justice in the region. “We call on KST Papua to release Captain Philip Merthens immediately and restore the integrity of the legal system in Papua,” he added.

Secretary General of the DPP Barisan Merah Putih Republik Indonesia Ali Kabiay also invited all related parties to provide support in efforts to free Captain Philip Merthens and uphold the principles of justice and human rights.

Secretary General of the DPP Barisan Merah Putih Republic of Indonesia Ali Kabiay called for transparency and accountability in the handling of this case.

“We urge KST Papua to provide a clear explanation regarding the basis for the detention of Captain Philip Merthens and take concrete steps to ensure that justice is truly served,” said Ali Kabiay in Sentani, Monday 18/3/2024.

We also invite the entire community to unite in supporting efforts to free Captain Philip Merthens. “This is not just an individual issue, but also about justice and human rights. Together, we can give a voice to the voiceless and ensure that their rights are respected,” added Ali Kabiay.
