Jakarta – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that the government and online transportation app companies are strengthening collaboration to distribute Eid Bonuses (BHR) to online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers and couriers for Eid al-Fitr 2026.

Airlangga explained that the government has coordinated intensively with app companies to discuss the distribution mechanism for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr allowance (THR).

This program will reach approximately 850,000 driver and courier partners throughout Indonesia. The total budget allocated for this year’s Eid Bonus is approximately IDR 220 billion, double the previous year’s.

“We are encouraging early distribution (of the BHR), 14 days before or at the latest 7 days before Eid al-Fitr,” said Airlangga.

According to Airlangga, strengthening collaboration between the government and digital platforms is a strategic step to ensure timely and targeted distribution of aid.

The government plays a role in ensuring the policy framework and coordination, while application companies are responsible for the technical aspects of distribution to active partners who meet the criteria.

In addition to BHR for motorcycle taxi drivers and couriers, the government also emphasized the obligation to pay THR (Holiday Allowance) for private sector workers. Airlangga emphasized that companies must comply with applicable regulations.

“For the private sector, the obligation must be paid in full, cannot be paid in installments, and must be paid no later than seven days before Eid al-Fitr,” he said.

He also explained the THR calculation mechanism for private sector employees.

“So, THR is given to workers with a minimum of one year of service, the amount is one month’s salary, while workers with less than one year of service are given proportionally,” Airlangga said.

According to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan data, the number of wage recipients has reached 26.5 million workers, with the estimated total THR for the private sector reaching IDR 124 trillion.

Meanwhile, Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that the Ministry of Manpower has issued a Circular Letter concerning the Implementation of the 2026 Religious Holiday Allowance (THR) for Workers/Laborers in Companies.

“The THR payment refers to Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages and Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 6 of 2016 concerning Religious Holiday Allowances for Workers/Laborers in Companies,” he said.

To ensure smooth implementation, regional governments are asked to establish Manpower Task Force Posts at the provincial and district/city levels to anticipate worker complaints regarding THR payments.

Close collaboration between the government and digital platforms is a crucial foundation in ensuring that the benefits of the policy are truly felt by the public in the lead-up to the holidays.
