FEED ON OMNIBUS LAW

472

The government has submitted a draft of the Omnibus Work Copyright Bill to the House of Representatives. The bill is predicted as a regulation that is able to facilitate and facilitate the running of various business activities in order to increase investment in Indonesia.
This bill is claimed by the Government to advance the welfare of the people in various fields. The draft bill regulates several aspects of investment procedures and ease of doing business as a way to overcome overlapping regulations. This is in line with the spirit of President Jokowi who wants to immediately accelerate ‘human resource developers’ as he explained in his BBC interview some time ago.
However, many people question whether it is true that the various facilities which will be judged by many to indulge the entrepreneurs are substantially appropriate? Especially regarding the environmental field. Bearing in mind that not a few parties have strongly criticized the Draft Bill on the Working Copyright which is considered to have the potential to reverse the enforcement of environmental law in Indonesia.
Of course, as we all know, at this time environmental issues have come under the spotlight of many parties. This is closely related to the sustainability of the place where we live today. A basic understanding of caring for where we live is increasingly encouraged. Nothing else for the sake of protecting the Earth, guarding it for the sake of our children and grandchildren will live. However, the Omnibus Law does not damage the environment, because this regulation was made to advance Indonesia’s investment climate. Every party should not assume negative assumptions beforehand because the government believes this policy can be the key to Indonesia’s progress.
