The community firmly rejected the 212 Reunion because it was still during the Covid-19 pandemic because it could trigger a Covid-19 explosion. The event was also not useful because it only contained provocation to the government and became a stage for banned mass organizations.

The pandemic is still going on for almost 2 years. In the midst of the onslaught of the covid-19 virus, we are trying to survive without being infected with Corona. But strangely, the Alumni Brotherhood (PA) 212 seems not to be afraid of this dangerous disease, because they insisted on holding a reunion on December 2, 2021, at the Kuda-Jakarta statue.

How can PA 212 want to hold a reunion while there is still Corona out there? They reasoned that currently the number of Covid cases was decreasing, so it was safe. Even though we don’t know who the Asymptomatic People (OTG) are among the reunion participants. So it’s still a high risk activity.

The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Riza Patria, also refused the 212 reunion. Even though the Corona case is decreasing, it is still dangerous if there is a crowd. Don’t let Jakarta level up, because it’s currently in the period of the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level 1. If it goes up to PPKM level 3 or even 4, it will have a huge impact on the economy.

Imagine if many reunion participants were infected with Corona and then they spread it again to their families at home, as well as to other people who came into contact with them. Corona cases will rise drastically and the market will be closed again. Then the wheels of the economy will stall, and how can traders exist if this continues? The reunion only lasts a few hours but the effects can last for months.

Griffith University epidemiologist Dicky Budiman also emphatically rejects the 212 reunion, again for crowd reasons. Dicky also emphasized that if many have been vaccinated, there should not be an event such as a reunion, because it violates health protocols. Vaccination can indeed prevent the danger of Corona transmission, but you must obey the procedures, because communal immunity has not yet been formed.

We also don’t know how many percent of the 212 reunion participants have been vaccinated against Corona, so there is still the potential for transmission of the Covid-19 virus there. It could be that there is an antivax so that it is even dangerous because it has the potential to be OTG. After all, it is impossible to ask all of the 212 reunion participants for a swab test in advance, as the costs are also quite high.

Why is the reunion hot and it can rain, because December is the rainy season? If the Monas field is closed, the participants of the 212 reunion can bite their fingers, because getting another large place cannot be done quickly. Moreover, the permit also cannot be impromptu, and has the potential to be disbanded by the authorities, because it is not licensed and creates a crowd.

The chairman of the PKS DPP, Mardani Ali Sera, also rejected the 212 reunion if it was held at the Monas field. He suggested that the reunion be held virtually, again due to the pandemic. However, even though it is held virtually, PA 212 still has to prioritize courtesy and must not blaspheme the government.

Reunions should be full of laughter and sharing of joy. However, the 212 reunions in previous years were filled with swearing, blasphemy, and attacks against the government. It’s as if the negative sentences they use are dirtying the white clothes they are wearing, what a shame. If they claim to be someone who is obedient, of course it is better to be silent than to speak badly.

The 212 reunion was canceled instead of coming all the way to the Monas field, it turned out that the place was closed because it was still a pandemic. This event also clearly did not get permission from the police, because it was still a pandemic. Don’t reunite randomly because it can increase new Corona cases.
