Jakarta – Global manufacturing investment continues to show a positive trend and is a driving force for economic equality in Indonesia. This momentum is being reinforced through various technological advancement initiatives, industrial collaboration, and digital transformation, which present significant opportunities for strengthening national competitiveness amidst global competition.

As we approach the end of 2025, Indonesia’s manufacturing sector is showing increasingly progressive dynamics. More than 1,000 industry players from 29 countries participated in the industrial technology and engineering event held at the JIExpo Kemayoran. Raw material suppliers, machine manufacturers, automation developers, digital companies, and sustainability practitioners were present to encourage the exchange of ideas, technology transfer, and collaboration that will contribute to equitable economic benefits.

Portfolio Director of PT Pamerindo Indonesia, Meysia Stephannie, said that strengthening the manufacturing industry is an important foundation for expanding the national economy.

“We are focused on creating space to accelerate technology adoption, production efficiency, and sustainable manufacturing practices. The high level of enthusiasm from industry players reflects Indonesia’s readiness to leapfrog and strengthen its position on the global stage,” he said.

Manufacturing performance in the third quarter of 2025 grew 5.58% annually, contributing 17.39% to GDP. This growth demonstrates that the manufacturing sector is a key pillar driving the economy, creating new jobs, absorbing skilled labor, and expanding production centers to various regions, ensuring a more equitable distribution of development benefits.

The government, through Making Indonesia 4.0, continues to strengthen technology-based industrial transformation. According to a report by 29 companies participating in the National Lighthouse Industry 4.0 initiative, digitalization can double productivity, accelerate production processes six times faster, and reduce carbon emissions. This confirms that technological innovation not only increases competitiveness but also supports long-term sustainability.

Support for strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem also comes from industry associations. Dedi Riyanto, Head of Corporate Development at GAMMA, emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration between the government, machine manufacturers, and industry players.

“We hope the national machinery industry will be increasingly able to meet modern technological standards and requirements, thereby improving the overall quality of Indonesian manufacturing,” he explained.

Several companies are also showcasing smart industrial innovations. Kawan Lama Solution, for example, is showcasing its MAZATROL Smooth technology on Mazak machines, which enables real-time production monitoring, greater precision, and energy efficiency.

Meanwhile, Kawan Lama Solution Sales Director, Ferry Ardiwinata, emphasized that cutting-edge technology is now a primary need.

“The integration of IoT and AI makes production systems more adaptive, efficient, and sustainable, enabling industries to respond more quickly to market changes,” he said.

In addition to technology, improving the quality of human resources is also a concern through various training, technical sessions, and capacity building programs such as the Kaizen Clinic, Manufacturing Digital Hub, Robopark, and the Automotive Quality Management Hub.

These activities demonstrate that global manufacturing investment not only improves industrial performance but also strengthens economic equality through competency enhancement, technological transformation, and sustainable cross-sector collaboration.
