Jakarta – The government continues to demonstrate its commitment to addressing the impact of the Termination of Employment (PHK) at PT Sritex by ensuring that affected workers receive job certainty in the near future. This step is part of a major effort to maintain social and economic stability amidst the dynamics of the national textile industry.

Minister of Manpower, Yassierli emphasized that the government has prepared a concrete solution so that workers who are laid off can return to work within a maximum of two weeks. “The government ensures that all affected workers will immediately get their jobs back. This is a top priority in maintaining their welfare,” said Yassierli.

The government is working with a team of curators and potential investors to expedite the company’s rescue process. This effort reflects a commitment to workers and a commitment to protecting their rights amidst industry changes.

Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi added that the government has encouraged PT Sritex to continue operating with an updated business model. “The curator is still communicating with a number of investors to ensure that PT Sritex continues to operate and that affected workers can return to work,” he said.

The curator is currently collecting data on employees affected by the layoffs to ensure they are given priority in re-recruitment. This process will run parallel to the search for new investors interested in taking over PT Sritex’s operations.

Meanwhile, President of the Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPN), Ristadi, appreciated the government’s steps in ensuring that workers’ rights remain protected. “Workers have been conducive in responding to this condition. We chose advocacy and negotiation strategies as the main steps in facing this bankruptcy process,” added Ristadi.

The government’s commitment to saving the national textile industry is also part of a grand strategy to maintain the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry. The government ensures that no party is harmed in this process, especially workers who depend on this sector for their livelihood.
