Jakarta – The government has ensured that the availability and distribution of national fuel supplies (BBM) are safe and sufficient to meet public demand during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period (Nataru). This assurance was conveyed amid increased public mobility across various regions, particularly along major land, sea, and air transportation routes.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia stated that fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplies remain secure throughout the Christmas and New Year holiday period. He guaranteed that fuel and LPG stocks are adequate, even as Indonesia is facing disasters in several regions.

Bahlil explained that the availability of subsidized RON 90 fuel stocks is sufficient for 18 days. Meanwhile, stocks of RON 92 and RON 95 fuels are sufficient for 22 days and 28 days, respectively.

“National diesel fuel stocks are also still sufficient, with availability for the next 15–17 days,” Bahlil said.

Meanwhile, LPG supplies are estimated to be able to meet public needs for the next 14 days. Overall, he assured that the distribution process will run smoothly.

Previously, Head of BPH Migas Wahyudi Anas confirmed that preparations for fuel distribution have been carefully planned. Wahyudi emphasized that areas with the potential for increased fuel demand are a key focus of supervision, and that anticipation of possible consumption spikes continues.

“In preparation for Nataru 2025/2026, the government together with designated fuel business entities are making thorough preparations and are committed to overseeing operations through early 2026. Our hope is that Nataru 2025/2026 will run smoothly, with safe distribution, and that we can anticipate any surge in consumer demand,” Wahyudi said.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, through the ESDM Nataru Command Post, projects an increase in gasoline consumption of 7.2 percent compared to the normal average realization during the period of December 15, 2025 to January 5, 2026.

The ESDM Nataru Command Post also estimates an increase in LPG consumption of 5.2 percent compared to average normal demand.

As an anticipatory measure, PT Pertamina (Persero) has readied 125 fuel terminals, 7,885 gas stations (SPBU), and 27 aviation fuel depots (DPPU). In addition, Pertamina has prepared additional facilities at points expected to experience spikes in demand.

The government urges the public to use fuel wisely and to refrain from excessive purchasing. With supply readiness and the support of all stakeholders, the government is optimistic that the public’s energy needs during the Christmas and New Year holidays will be met safely, smoothly, and reliably.
