JAKARTA – The government has officially launched the IDR 12.83 Trillion Economic Stimulus Package I-2026 ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr to maintain public purchasing power and facilitate mobility. The announced policies include transportation discounts, food aid, and flexible work policies.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized that the government has allocated a large budget to support the program.

“We are preparing a stimulus package that reflects Indonesia’s economic growth. We have allocated IDR 12.83 trillion for transportation discounts during the Eid holiday, including airline ticket discounts,” he said.

He explained that the fund allocation includes approximately IDR 200 billion for transportation incentives and approximately IDR 12 trillion for social assistance.

This program is valid from February to March 2026 and does not include electricity tariff discounts.

Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, said this stimulus is designed to ease the burden on the public, especially those traveling home for Eid and visiting relatives.

“We want to ease the burden on our brothers and sisters who, during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, usually visit relatives, travel home, or return to their hometowns by providing incentives in the form of discounts on train tickets, plane tickets, and ferry crossings,” he said.

In addition, the government is also strengthening supervision of road infrastructure conditions to ensure the safety of travelers.

“We continue to coordinate to ensure the roadworthiness of roads, which are now experiencing many potholes during the rainy season. We are very concerned and continue to remind all levels of government to pay attention to small details that can pose a fatal risk,” said Prasetyo.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that one of the main focuses of the stimulus is transportation incentives, with a total estimated budget of Rp911.16 billion.

“Transportation fare discounts, with a total estimated budget of Rp911.16 billion from the state budget and non-state budget support,” he said.

He detailed a 30 percent discount on train tickets targeting 1.2 million passengers, a 30 percent discount on sea transportation, and exemption from port service fees for ferry crossings.

In addition, domestic economy class airfare is also discounted by 17–18 percent.

“Work from anywhere (WFA) or flexible working arrangement (FWA) for five days: March 16, 17, 25, 26, and 27, 2026,” wrote Teddy.

To strengthen purchasing power, the government is also distributing food aid to 35.04 million beneficiary families from deciles 1 to 4.
