Bali – Indonesia continues to enhance its role and position in the international arena. Over the past decade, President Joko Widodo’s administration has hosted various international events that have influenced global policy.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), when opening the Joint Leaders’ Session High Level Forum On Multi Stakeholder Partnership (HLF MSP) and the 2nd Indonesia Africa Forum (IAF) 2024, Bali, said that it is important for all parties to play a role in creating positive change in a world full of challenges.
“Both the challenges of economic slowdown and unemployment and inflation rates that have not improved as well as ongoing geopolitical tensions that have caused many casualties and disrupted the global supply chain,” said Jokowi.
Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi expressed his hope that the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF MSP) and the 2nd Indonesia-Africa Forum (IAF) held in Bali from 1-3 September 2024 would become an important part of the historical legacy of the Indonesian nation.
“For the past ten years, Indonesia has been in the world spotlight in various international forums. We hope that the 2nd HLF MSP and IAF will leave a deep and positive impression, in line with the long historical footprint that we have, including as the initiator of the 1955 Asia-Africa Conference,” he said in a Press Conference at the 2nd HLF MSP and IAF Media Center at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Badung.
Indonesia plays an active role in every international forum such as HLF-MSP and IAF, not only as a host. Moreover, according to the Minister of Communication and Information, the Indonesian Government has become a major driver in building mutually beneficial cooperation, especially with countries in Africa.
“Indonesia and Africa have a long history of shared struggle for independence. Now we face global challenges together to achieve shared progress,” he said.
According to the Minister of Communication and Information, through various international forums, the Indonesian Government has demonstrated its commitment to facilitating global dialogue that builds and strengthens cooperation in various fields.
“Forums such as HLF-MSP and IAF are real evidence of how Indonesia under President Jokowi’s leadership plays a key role in strengthening relations between countries and encouraging the creation of mutually beneficial cooperation,” explained the Minister of Communication and Information.
Specifically, regarding the IAF, Minister Budi Arie reminded Indonesia of its role as the initiator of the Asia Africa Conference in 1955.
All parties are expected to actively participate in making the 2nd HLF-MSP and IAF a success as a form of shared responsibility in realizing a more prosperous and peaceful world.
