Implementation of PSU in Various Regions Runs Conducively

JAKARTA – Several re-voting (PSU) implementations in several regions in Indonesia took place safely, smoothly, and conducively. This fact reflects the maturity of democracy and strong synergy between election organizing institutions and security forces.
In Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java, a member of Commission I of the West Java Provincial DPRD, H. Taufik Hidayat, SH., MH., appreciated the smooth running of the PSU. Tasikmalaya Regency is recorded in case number 132/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025 at the Constitutional Court, with 2,847 TPS and 1,418,928 DPT.
“The implementation of the PSU in Tasikmalaya Regency is running safely, smoothly, and conducively. Currently the vote counting process at the TPS is underway,” he said.
Meanwhile, in Palopo City, South Sulawesi, Palopo Police Chief, AKBP Dedi Surya Dharma intensified coordination with the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) to ensure the orderly and peaceful implementation of the PSU.
“We fully support Bawaslu so that the PSU runs safely and democratically,” he said during a visit to the Palopo Bawaslu office. Palopo Bawaslu Chairman Khaerana welcomed the synergy and emphasized the importance of cross-sector communication to prevent potential conflict.
In East Kalimantan, the PSU in the Muara Badak and Marangkayu areas, Kutai Kartanegara, was also successful. Bontang Police Chief, AKBP Alex Frestian Lumban Tobing, appreciated the hard work of all parties, including the TNI, Polri, KPU, Bawaslu, local governments, and the community.
“The entire series of activities from voting to logistics distribution went safely and smoothly,” he said. This success was reinforced by tight monitoring of election logistics and the Brimob BKO return ceremony as a symbol of the completion of the security stage.
On the other hand, post-PSU, an atmosphere of reconciliation began to emerge. One figure, Awang Yacoub Luthman, called on all parties to end the competition and prioritize synergy for the sake of justice and the welfare of the Kukar people.
“End the competition, build synergy, create reconciliation,” he said.
In Central Java, the Head of the Provincial Bawaslu, Muhammad Amin confirmed that the implementation of the 2024 Gubernatorial Election, including the PSU in Pemalang and Karanganyar Regencies, went well even though several violations were still found.
“A total of 118 alleged violations were successfully handled thanks to participatory supervision from the community,” he said. Steps to develop monitoring villages and anti-money politics villages are also being pushed to strengthen the integrity of future elections.
Meanwhile, KPU RI Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin said that active community participation shows a stronger democratic spirit. The vote recapitulation process in North Gorontalo has even been completed to the district/city level through the Sirekap application.
“Positive achievements in North Gorontalo, which is the region with the highest participation rate in the PSU this time, namely 80.11 percent,” he said.
Overall, the implementation of PSU in various regions proves that Indonesian democracy is increasingly mature. This success is a valuable asset to welcome the upcoming election with a stronger spirit of participation, integrity, and unity.
