Jakarta – The commemoration of Youth Pledge Day on October 28, 2025, is a crucial opportunity for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration to reinforce its commitment to developing a young generation that excels, possesses integrity, and is globally competitive. The government emphasizes that the nation’s greatest investment is in the quality of human resources (HR) who are healthy, intelligent, and possess strong character.

Hariqo Wibawa Satria, a senior expert at the Government Communications Agency (BKP), stated that the Prabowo-Gibran administration places a significant emphasis on protecting young people from social threats such as online gambling, drugs, and the misuse of digital technology. “The government wants its people to be protected from the dangers of the internet, drugs, and online gambling. For children living in border areas, we have even provided a medical specialist allowance of over IDR 30 million to ensure they receive adequate healthcare,” Hariqo said.

Hariqo also highlighted important achievements during Prabowo-Gibran’s first year in office, including the successful reduction of social and political polarization. “What we should appreciate about this Youth Pledge is that within a year, there is no longer the polarization that existed before. We have pledged to be one Indonesian nation, and this serves as a stepping stone to moving forward even faster in 2026,” he said.

Hariqo further emphasized that President Prabowo’s spirit of clean governance has been consistently promoted since his first day in office. He cited the Rp300 trillion in budget efficiency and the return of Rp1,000 trillion in state funds as concrete evidence of the success of corruption eradication. “During the reform era, corruption seemed widespread. But now, the President is not selective; even if the perpetrators are from within the Red and White Cabinet, they are still dealt with firmly,” he explained.

He added that the President’s message to young people was clear: don’t be corrupt, don’t harm society, and be a clean and responsible generation. “The main spirit of the Youth Pledge is to remind each other and together reject corruption for the sake of a dignified Indonesia,” Hariqo said.

Meanwhile, Papuan youth figure Billy Mambrasar believes the spirit of the Youth Pledge holds profound philosophical significance. He believes the word “One” in the Youth Pledge signifies that every citizen has an equal opportunity to contribute to national development. “The government provides opportunities, and it’s the youth’s job to seize them. Don’t be passive; everyone must actively participate,” Billy said.

Billy explained that in various regions, including Papua, more and more young people are getting involved in government-initiated vocational education and training programs. “Youth involvement is crucial. They must be willing to take risks, step out of their comfort zones, and be part of the change,” he added.

He emphasized that the spirit of the Youth Pledge is not merely a historical symbol, but a moral guide for the nation’s future generations. “Love for the homeland must be demonstrated through concrete actions: studying diligently, working hard, and contributing to society,” Billy asserted.

Through the spirit of the 2025 Youth Pledge, the Prabowo-Gibran government is committed to producing a golden generation of Indonesia, young people who are resilient, globally competitive, and ready to lead the nation towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
